It will depend on the location of the home. For instance, if you build across the street from a superfund site, or a chemical refinery, you may be exposed to hazardous or toxic chemicals.

But, if you are talking strictly about the construction site, then the primary concern would be illegal dumping or burning of construction debris and/or the impact of stormwater runoff or sediment resulting from the clearing of the job site as it affects sanitary sewer or storm drains.
