Good points. And they also fail to understand some of those they consider the "enemy" - their appreciation of topics like Big Bang Cosmology, the Theory of Evolution and related issues are below some grade-schooler I know.

I am sure that what you say is true in more than a few cases.
Some have found, through trial and error and the school of hard knocks, that Scripture says what they want to say in the best possible way in the least amount of words.
I don't try to avoid Scripture, but I do try to take into account that the other person does not have my experience or I theirs. The question may not show me where we could enter real conversation. >> remembering that this venue to not set for conversation.
My concern about some fellow Christians on this site is that they no longer seem to have any serious questions or honest doubts. Not everyone in life is at the same level and the same holds true in Christianity.
Frankly, I don't think there are vast numbers of Christians attempting to hide personal questions, which hover on the edge of serious doubt. Does it make you feel better to think so?

Some Christians have a hard time opening up about what
they believe and some never stop telling you how much they
believe. Christians are taught to spread the word. Some are
better at this than others. Each one has his or her own method of sharing. I like quiet believers who don't have to say
a word but get the message out by being a great example
by their good deeds and actions. Not just words!

They are trying to save as many souls from Hell as they can and most quote scirpture to help you understand, that means you and others that appear to not know god. It seems your doom to mock Christianity and its followers for your own form of entertainment I can honestly say that is a sick way of living life. Not a judgment mind you when your goal is to cause misery and descent that is your goal so addressing the problem head on is what is needed here.
You are offending a large number of people and you do not care what type of decent person trays to alienate 1/2 the world or more.
The person who looks non-sensual is the person in the strait jacket.

They're a bunch of douchebags who are trying to play schoolyard bully around here, reporting people left and right, while at the same time breaking all of the rules that Yahoo has. Hypocrisy is their nature. Their time will soon end. Y!Anarchy is fast approaching.

Real understanding of the word of God comes by revelation of the Holy Spirit. If one has not received any revelation of God's word how can one be in a position to say whether the words of God quoted in a particular situation is right or wrong.
However in some obvious situations we can with our own minds know whether the quotation is pertinent or out of context. When God's word is quoted it is intended to show God's position or standard on the issue. So with God's words we cannot just speculate but it is better we judge by the Spirit and with the mind of Christ.

All I know is that Mrs. Harper tells me that I'm wicked for praying to God that I hit the Powerball whenever the Jackpot is high but she does the same thing at her Bingo games. Is it ok for her to do it because Bingo is always held at the church and not ok for me to pray to God that I win because I go to the 7 11 down the street? Now answer that, Suga!

No, people that quote the bible use it as a weapon when someone questions their belief. They are overly defensive and they feel that the bible is their only defense to everything else that's out there.

Themselves......the only thing I understand is that conformity is accepted and respected in our society. I would rather not participate, but sometimes have to. Sad but true.

There is only one way. Jesus Christ said that he is the way. If faith is based on emotion then faith is strong when we feel "like we think we should" and when we don't then our faith is weak. Roller coaster faith is not good. When you've been through that and realize what faith truly is then you are grateful for the opportunity to shine the light wherever it is recognized.
