Well I always had the opinion that if you don't find the right one you must be patient and stay single. It is sth like an investment in time.... It worked in my life. The existence of a soul mate is not predestined. On the other hand usually your other half is walking somewhere near you because it is also attracted, you cant miss it as long as you have your eyes opened and your heart ready.

The friends you have and interact with probably constitute as a type of relationship. So who you interact with in a way never makes you single. However their are certain moments of a intimate relationship that make it worth while to focus on a lasting bond with your partner. Weather its raising kids, religion, or hobbies you enjoy together. As far as soul mates sometimes people in society have a hard time deciding what is right or wrong on a basic level because they focus on details to much. So If society has a hard time recognizing what simple things are what hope do you have as an individual in a world of billions recognizing the hidden attributes of one soul. You should probably just do what I do and look and hope to get lucky.

Yes. There IS such a thing as being single for life and there's nothing wrong with it.
It's not appealing to most people though.
If a person is happy with themselves and is financially independant, it really isn't necessary to be married.
That is strictly up to the individual. Whatever makes them the happiest and relaxed.

Lots of people enjoy the single life, if you are independent enough you might actually have a hard time being in a long term relationship with someone.

I think it's ok when the person in question says it is. I mean, I don't believe there is a rule that says one must be in a relationship. Just for clarity, does it count when a person dates and has casual sex but doesn't enter relationships? I want to understand the context of the question.

It's ok for a person to be single if that's the lifestyle they chose for themselves. Sheesh, how insecure can you be??? If you want to be single for life, you need nobody's approval and you owe nobody an explanation.
