It could b just a build up of ear wax or maybe something worse. Go to a doctor or possibly lose some hearing or maybe worse. Your choice.

The home remedy for ear pain --
a drop of room-temperature cooking oil in the ear, will soothe your ear drum. Place a small amount of a cotton ball at the entrance to your ear canal to help keep the ear warm.
You may also be helped by taking aspirin, Tylenol, or ibuprofen for the pain.

Usually if the pain is not better by about the 3rd day, it is wise to go to the Dr. to have it examined.

Caution must be taken - to have the ear examined - as pressure can build-up behind the ear drum, and the ear drum can burst -- extremely painful, and can affect your hearing. If need be the Dr can perform a procedure to release the pressure safely.

they have drops you can buy at the store and put in your ear to dry up the excess water in your ear. It could be that if you've gone swimming or maybe even in the shower you have trapped water in your ear and that will help alot, it did for me. You can also heat up cloth or a clean sock in the microwave, for like 15 seconds, and put it to your ear and the heat helps alot. If neither of these things help, really do try and get an appointment at the doctots as soon as you can because it may be an infection.
