Just register then when they draft you kiss your drill sergeant on the lips. That should keep you out.

There is no excuse just register and get on with your life. It takes an act of congress to institute a draft, and getting congress to do anything is like pulling hens teeth. You stand a better chance to get a phone call from God then getting drafted. Besides if you really wanted to get out of the draft its not hard. Not registering with the selective services is a bad idea.

There is NO Good reason for not registering. First of all there is no draft, so don't dirty your underwear over it. Secondly, if there were a draft (which there will never be in your lifetime) it is your duty if called upon to due your duty for our country. Think of the people who died so that you would be FREE to ask such a question without being strung up by your thumbs and beaten.

Yeah, a good excuse is that they don't require women to register. Thus, it's not fair. And no, I'm not joking, I'm serious. That said, NOT registering is kind of like NOT paying taxes. Yeah, it's unfair, but if you get caught you'll be f*cked. So I'd recommend doing it. You can always become a fugitive if need be. OK, so my last comment is a joke, LOL. But seriously, REGISTER and suck it up. It does suck, we should get the laws changed so that women, who complain about not being equal, will have to possibly lay their lives on the line, too.

Don't be a wuss. Just sign up. Even after serving 5 and a half years, I still had to sign up for selective service. I could have been recalled until December 2001, but that didn't happen.

There isn't a good reason not to sign up. On the bright side of things you really don't ever have to worry about The draft being reinstated. This war we are currently in is way too unpopular amung the american people as well as congress. Therefore The draft will not be reinstated. So signup and forget about it.

I wouldn't try it.I THINK you can go to jail if caught.Don't worry yourself about a draft. It's not going to happen. The movers and shakers of this country are the wealthy they won't let their kids go.And the draft bill that has been put before the house says mandatory service for all.So none will be going off to college to get out of it.IT WON"T HAPPEN.

Why are people so scared to register? There's not a draft. There's probably not ever going to be a draft. So suck it up and spend the 3 minutes it takes to register.
You're not going to avoid anything bad or make a bold political statement by not registering. You're just going to break the law, and then if you go to do anything involved with the government (including applying for financial aid for college), they're going to get you.

Nope, no way around. I wouldn't worry too much about it, the only time anyone talks about a draft is during a presidential election to get voters to the polls.
Could be worse, could be almost any other country which requires their people to serve for 2 years.
