'age gap' relationships can certainly work, it depends on the people involved.
any 'age gap' is relative, and the older you are the less difference a 5 or 6 year gap makes.
for example, a relationship between a 19 year old and a 25 year old doesn't stand a great chance of working out, as that's a relatively huge difference ... plus the younger person still has some living to do.
with a 39 year old guy you 'should' be fairly assured that he's grown up, been around, has some life experience, and is fairly mature. dating a woman 6 years older than him shouldn't be problem nor should it be a problem for the woman.
'age gap' relationships tend to fail when a generational gap is bridged or the age difference is so vast that the people involved can't relate to each other ... for example, not knowing about important events, not listening to the same type of music, having a different outlook on life.
also, often (but not always) an older person will be at a more advanced stage in their life, and may be looking for something more stable and serious ... whereas a younger person might feel they still want to have some fun first.
i wouldn't expect that's the case with a 39 year old guy though, he should have had his fun by now and the prospect of commitment shouldn't be too daunting for him.
so, yes, older woman / younger man relationships can and do work, especially if both are that little bit 'more mature' in the first place.

Why not, love is love. It doesn't matter what age you are. You are both adults and can make your own decisions. Why be afraid to share something special with someone only 6 years younger. So what, we've all seen older men with younger women. In this day and age woman are more empowered and date younger men. Doesn't matter how you met or how young or old within reason. If your both happy, who cares, right. Best wishes.

It is only a 6 year gap, at this time of life that is like 6 months when in our teens. You are both from around the same era of growing up etc. Age differences should matter less as we grow older as it is the quality of the relationship that is important.
So my answer is, YES.
Good luck

Of course. Good relationships are based on sharing the same values and interests. 6 years is only a big deal if one of you is under 18.

Of coarse it can work. It’s a normal relationship between two people. If there’s love and trust it doesn't matter who’s older and the age gap isn't big anyway.

If you are both single and free I say why not. Age is just a number. If you're into each other and have things in common it may be a good foundation for a successful relationship.

Of course it can. And besides, an age difference of 6 years when you're in your 30's and 40's really isn't that much of a difference anyways.
