I would say that you have got some sensory input problem sort of like dislexia. I don't know if there are any medications that would help. I would look to herbs for the answer, because doctors will do very little for you. This is probably very unusual. Lobelia tea might help or some other herbs having to do with helping calm your nervous system. It sounds like your nervous system is agitated and is having a hard time separating different sensations. Get an herbal book and study the nervine herbs. Try different teas to see if they will help. There is Dr. Christopher's herb shop in Springville, Utah. You can get information from them. Also, there is Dr. Richard Schultz who you could write to or call. They might have some good suggestions. You will have to try to block all that stuff out and focus on the meaning of the sentence. It will take practice, so don't stop trying. I wouldn't ignore the problem. If your parents don't know, I would tell them. Don't let doctors put you on a bunch of drugs though. This will only screw up your system and cause more problems.

I think I can begin to understand how frustrating and complicated it must be for ya.. being blessed with a curse can have that kind of effect on people. My only guess is that it will just take time to get used to.. as you become more familiar with things, it will have less of an impact on your ability to digest information ..
I suppose it would be something like learning to walk again with a prosthetic leg maybe?
If the same individual words were a different color every time you read them and they never kept the same color each time, it would be totally maddening, right?
Just take the time to go through the trouble of leaning your new found language, and find the patience to learn it fluently. Once you do, you will no longer stumble over the amount of extra information your brain is trying to process.
Fascinating. :)
Good Luck with it.

I have the same problem inside of my mind too. But when I'm reading its just normal, but whenever I see the letters and words in my head they have a color, or like you said emotion. I don't get you when you say it takes you forever to figure out the color of the word while reading, but I'm a slow reader myself, but i see everything black, and i never get to thinking about figuring out a color of a word.
Well now you know someone who kinda has the same problem. Well good luck!

Sounds like you are intuitive with words. You may want to find a physic book. Or a spiritual aura book, as well as physic abilities. You read them in a different light. That in my opinion is very cool. You should try doing more research on this. Get in tune with it and use it when you want and turn it off when you don't. Maybe even a Sylvia Brown book would help you. That's not a bad thing, it sounds like a wonderful gift. I would look into that. Have a Great Day.

There's actually a neurological condition that makes you process things like this. Other people describe flavors as having texture ("this soup has too many sharp points") or linking sounds with numbers. I can't remember what it's called...
...but by some miracle I just found the book I read about it years ago! Hurrah! "The Man Who Tasted Shapes"

For me, it's days of the week. Sunday is green, Saturday is red, Friday is orangey-yellow, Tuesday and Thursday are sort of dark green, almost black, and Monday and Wednesday are both yellow. It doesn't cause me problems, though. I've seen a lot of helpful answers above, though. Good luck.

I've heard similar things with people who are diagnosed ADD. Like instead of thinking in words they think in pictures. I definitely have always felt that multiples of 2's and multiples of 5's are somehow superior to other numbers.
