Why the previous recorded tracks always blends into the new track when i do a multitrack recording recording?

I have a problem while doing a multi track recording using some music studio software. Why the previous recorded tracks always blends into the other new track. I changed & checked all the options in the software but the problems is still the same even after i tried few other softwares. So i finally found out that the problems is in the sound card. Please advice... Tq

It cannot be in the sound card. It receives the music as digital data.
You are making an assumption somewhere that is not valid. If you posted more info I might be able to help more than asking:
Can you not mute or delete the other tracks? (Or solo the track you want?)
Are you dubbing from an analog source?
