Ok, so on YOUTUBE I found a video documentary done by the British, about Westboro Baptist Church. For those of you who dont know them by name, they are the church who pickets at soldiers funerals, and website is godhatesfags.com. Obviously, not very loving.

Now, this is coming from someone who's church is normally viewed in the same light as this one is... Hateful, bigoted, unloving, ect. We are the same denomination as WBC, Independant, fundemental, baptist. Although they are calvinists, and we are not. We believe God knows who will and will not be saved due to his forknowledge, but does not CHOOSE someone to be saved over another person, we all have equal opprotunity to be saved. My church believes in women wearing skirts, traditional music, modesty, and women having meek and quiet spirits, especially when pertaining to church ministries. .....

To be continued below, havent gotten to my question yet!!

My question is that this family church organization, ect, seems so far out there, and are using the name christian, baptist in particular. The church is making people view them as fanatics, and completly turning people off from God and religion all together, believing that we all think this way.

The bible talks about a one world religion, especially in the end times when it gets very very bad. Do you think that this church could *possibly* be apart of a conspiricy theory?

I am NOT big on these, I think the 9-11 one is dumb, and most others show no validity. But this seems strange, because of how OUT they are and vulgar. They cuss and act retarded. So, do you think it is possible they are being payed by *someone* either gov. or otherwise to pose as this big christian fanatical church who makes a big fuss to turn people off and turn from christianity all together, ultimatley making them turn to a one world religion?

You can see from the videos which I will post in a minute that they all live in very large homes, which all back up into each other. They are all family. They picket every day. I want to know HOW they make money to picket every day, and spend over 200,000 a year on flights ALONE she said to fly to the pickets. Something is going on here, they are SO far out there that I just cant see this being legit. They have to have SOMETHING going on to make them make such a big fuss over *fags* in particular. I dont like the word, but it is what they say, and I do think it is wrong, but wouldnt condone them openly calling names.

There is the documentary, anyone who has a minute might be interested in seeing what it is all about, and the absolute disgust they bring to the christian name.

I just want to clarify that I know what they are saying. I understand the message they are trying to say, but I DONT agree with how they are saying it.

The soldier thing I dont understand, that is something that God set up a long time ago, military, and it is honorable, they are not fighting over in Iraq for fags, so that makes no sense.

I do understand why they say America is so terrible, because looking around as a christian, it is. Hollywood sets the dress, and little 5 year olds look like street walkers. Homosexuality is wrong and sinful and I do not believe someone can participate in it and be saved. You must repent for that in order to be saved. But I dont agree with calling names, and causing a big stir about it. In the pulpit at my church things are preached on it, and drinking and adultry and immodesty, and fornication, ect. We pass out tracks to get our message across, but we do not hold hate filled signs that people dont understand.

Interesting idea....I wouldn't have thought of an outside conspiracy, but I see your point.

I think we would all agree that these people are not representative of Christians in any way. Moreover, I don't think that they actually believe in God as they claim. I personally feel that they are, in truth, non-believers who are portraying themselves as Christians for the purpose of damaging the Christian testimony and driving people away from God. It is inconceivable that a group of people who profess faith in God could distort His word so badly unless it were intentional. I suppose one could argue for some sort of mental illness, but I think their methods and motive are much too deliberate for that to be the case.

So, to answer your question, I agree that there is a conspiracy, but I think it is a conspiracy that these people have invented themselves. They are simply trying to cause controversy which will reflect badly on the Christian church. Unfortunately for them, I think that they have gone so far overboard that they have only managed to discredit themselves as ridiculous hate-mongers, rather than as representatives of the Christian faith. I feel that rational individuals are able to see through their motives and do not associate them with those of us who attempt follow God's teachings of peace and compassion.

God, after all, does not hate anyone....men wrongly spread hate in the name of God, and someday those who do so will answer for it.

I have no idea. How the end times will play out is yet to be seen. I believe that the naturally occurring events brought about by man will eventually set things up for God to start pouring down his wrath on the world just as the actions of mankind brought Gods wrath in the flood but how and when I don't know.

Anything is possible and I believe that all things, both good and bad are related to what will eventually happen somehow.

I don't think it's a conspiracy in a physical sense, but it might be one in the spiritual sense. Westboro Baptist Church is a group of well-meaning but misguided individuals who have come together for a common cause. That's not a rare thing. Ignorance and stupidity are quite common in this world.

It's an example of what happens when people try to interpret the Bible individually and separate from the teaching authority of the original apostolic Church that Jesus founded.

I recommend studying what the early leaders of the Church had to say in their writings. A few of them are Clement, Ignatius of Antioch, and Augustine.

The Phelps family equate to hate and psychological disorder. I hope they are considered a cult. I'm an atheist, but I totally do not think of them as christian. Many of my christian friends and family are appalled over their extreme and illogical actions. They are a good reason why some people should be culled.

Remember what Jesus said" not everyone who says Lord Lord will enter in, but those who do the will of my Father"
God's will is in Jesus words to LOVE your brother not to be hate mongers,
so although they "claim "to be Christians I doubt they are.
Jesus came to forgive sin not condemn..John 3:17 but only those who reject his gift of salvation condemn themselves John 3:18-19

good point. It could be that they are paid to make christianity look bad. I never thought of it that way.

my take on it is this....they don't really believe what they say, they just do it to get a rise out of people and then when they are hit, or "slandered" they sue. they are all disbarred lawyers and absolutely nuts. but that's just my thoughts.

I don't think anyone is paying them to be that ignorant. Unfortuantely, there are people out there who are this stupid.

Everything else aside....the protests of the funerals sent me over the edge. They do not deserve to live in a country were people die to defend their rights.

Not everyone who says to me, Lord Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven, Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers! Matt 7:21-23

They are classified as a hate group. They preach hate and use the name of god to do it. I do not think they are involved with any type of conspiracy.
