Last night at the end of the semester pub bash I picked a "fight" with my teaching assistant. (I'm in australia and the culture here allows for drinking among teacher/students...totally accepted) We're about the same age.
We were both drunk and I believe what I basically did was call him on some of his teaching antics that bothered me. (God, I KNOW...so inappropriate, so unclassy) For instance I once made a statement in class and he snapped something back in defense, which made me never want to speak in his class again. THEN, a few weeks later he brought the matter up and quoted what I'd said that day and told the class he totally agreed with what I said. (Uh, no you didnt!!) When I called him on this he got defensive and well, it wasnt pretty. I think I "told him off" in the middle of campus. The worst part is *hangs head in shame* I think I have a crush on this guy, who now officially must think i am NUTSO. Do I Apologize? He still has my essay to grade.

Actually, I think you are gutsy. He must have thought you were right about your statement even though at the time he didn't like the fact that you knew more than the teacher. Teachers don't like to be "showed up". I don't think you should have called him on it, as you did. In a way, he was apologizing when he said he agreed with you. An apology may not hurt. Just don't repeat the same scenario again. Bite your tongue. And good luck on that essay and whatever else you may want luck with. ;)

Well it sounds like hes a jeark anyhow. if you really think you were in the wrong than apologize if you not stand your ground you are a person as well as him. evev if he has the power of the red marker. if you find your grade unfair becuse of this incident take it to a higer up in the teaching food chain. As for your crush do you think you wanna be crushing on the type of person that flips on what he thinks so often?

Hopefully you learned a lesson. Drunks are disgusting and run their mouths when they shouldn't. Do apologize. Maybe he will accept it, but I would be careful to not let this happen again.

it sounds as though he makes you tickle inside if you have already saw him since just brush it off forget it.If you have,nt seen him yet see how it go,s when you do see him feel it out and ya maybe apologize just to get the friendship back on track

I think you should simply tell him you are sorry for the way you acted , maybe he's not completely against forgiving and forgetting the situation.
