Anyone outside of North Carolina suffering with adult onset of Lymes or have recovered from Lymes?

If so, how/what did you do? I have an acquaintance who has suffered with this for over a year with no progress being made. It may be time to consider more radical treatments or causes. I'd appreciate any cogent thoughts anyone might have.
