what's the point of having a bible? can't he just speak out loud daily to us? it's not like it's that difficult for him. he's god. it's not like he doesn't have the time, he'll be around for all eternity. probably doesn't even have to do it every day, maybe just once a week, like at church.

He does speak to us daily but people fail to listen to Him. The heavens declares the glory of God and He revealed his Word in the Bible. The problem is that the automatic reaction of men is to reject the Word of God for their lives and they choose to be their own Gods with their own wills....

God is your conscience ! He is the One speaking to you when you are doing something that is wrong . There are two choices to make , a right moral way to choose , and a sinful wrong way to choose . You know right from wrong only because of Gods` original Commandments to live with which are morals , truth , and virtue . It is your free will that lets you make decisions` that are against Gods` Will . God speaks to even you , but you aren`t paying attention. If you have a TV , and its not hooked up to an antenna or to a cable system , guess what ; you are not going to get a signal ? The Bible and Gods Word ( the transmitter ) are always sending out a signal , but if you don`t have an antenna (your heart and your mind) tuned into Gods Channel , there is not going to be a picture , and never any "sound".

If you tell a child not to touch a hot plate on the stove, why do they sometimes touch it anyway? There's a big difference between being told to do something or not to do something, and experiencing what happens when someone makes both bad and good choices.

God can and does tell us how to be happy, but to really understand, we need to experience a world where people can see what happens when both good and bad choices are made. This is why there's so much ambiguity as to truth.

Earth life is like going away to college. Your parents aren't around as much and you have to really figure out what kind of person you're going to be without seeing someone looking over your shoulder.

You're wrong TKD... I wouldn't do good at all. Like I would do with any fascist dictators, I would spend the whole day plotting God's death! What's the point of eternal life if I have to spend it being a slave to a tyrant?

God, millenniums ago, started talking to us, and we rushed to class the event as a cosmic interference generated by UFOs, thus forcing poor God, to give up on us.

that is not how God operates. You are basically asking him to just take away your will. God wants us to want to communicate with him. He won't talk with you if you don't want to talk to him. Why would he talk to an unrepentant heart? He want for the believers to actively seek him and commune with him.

In the old testament, people asked Moses to talk with God for them for they are afraid of God. Moses talk with God and he left the mountain filled with the Glory of God that people could not look at him directly. God chooses the people whom he talk to directly. During the time where the temple in israel was at its peak. the priest could only enter the holy of holies after sacrificing animals for the atonement of their sins. If they enter the hall of holy of holies and found that they have sin in their heart they immediately drop dead. This is why they have a long string attach to their waist and a small bells on their belt in order for the people outside the hall to hear if they had stop moving indicating that they had died. God is that holy that a sinful man would die in his presence. Are you that righteous that you think you would be able to withstand the holiness of God?

If God did speak to us everyday, we would all know that he exists, and then we would only do good because we would know we would get punished for doing evil. As a result, everyone would be doing good just because they get rewarded, but not for being good's sake. That would destroy the whole purpose of our existence, which is to do good deeds.

God does speak to believers...daily...hourly...whenever they need him to speak.

As to the Bible, it is a combination of history and teachings of Christ to help the believer live a consistantly good life.

He did at one time, speak directly to people but they were so afraid of His voice they begged for Moses to talk with Him and relay the messages. :)
