I'm having a hard time understanding what an agnostic theist is. Agnostic means that you aren't sure if there is a God. Theist means that you believe in God, but don't ascribe to any particular religion. If you're half way between those two then you are headed in the opposite direction of an Atheist. An Atheist has a strong conviction towards a non-belief in the divine. You're definitely not an Atheist in my book.

You're an agnostic theist. Why would I consider you an atheist?

No, i consider you an Agnostic. I think it is a separate school of thought and should be treated as such. Much more reasonable than an atheist, in my opinion.

No, you're a Theist. I live my life under the relative certainty that there is no God. I'M an Atheist.

Atheist literally means "no-God". Agnostic literally means "no know" or "don't know". Theist basically means "God-ist" since theos was the Greek word for God..... So... A "dunno God-ist"................ Well it would seem you are really unsure as to what God is right, but you do believe in a higher power, but you are not an Atheist.

it's up to you if you're an atheist or not. ask yourself if you believe in God. it doesn't have to be the christian god-man, but do you believe that there's some kind of consciousness that created the universe and/or directs events in your life to help you grow? if you think there is no god, then maybe you're an atheist. i can't put a label on you based on what is in your head. and why would i want to? generaliations about people prevent us from understanding each other as individuals.

No, I consider you non-denominational. A true agnostic is one who challenges all notion of a higher being/power, but you believe in a higher power.

Nope.

Atheists know that there's no God.
You're saying you're not sure if there is one but that there might be.

You're still "just" a theist who's not sure.

so you aren't sure if there is a god or not and if you are leaning more to the side that there is a god you aren't sure which god it is or what would be expected of you for believing in this god you aren't that sure of?

is THAT the gist of it?

if so than no, I don't think of you as an atheist that has a total lack of belief in god, any god
