In answer to the last answer. I just read this peta alert. Guess what. They are saying that pets are dieing from eating hard foods that do NOT contain wheat glutton. Maybe get off you horse and learn something.

As to the person that put this information on here. Thank you so much. I just learned a lot that I did not know. I have joined their e-mail list and I will feel a lot better knowing that they will update me. I have gone to the fda website and they are not telling all of this. I guess typical government. They are hiding the facts.
I just signed up thanks to your listing. I have not received anything yet.

I wouldn't really trust anything that PETA has to say.

They are a radical group that, despite what their site may say, doesn't believe that we should have pets in the first place.

I also find their stance on feral cats to be disgusting. On one hand they believe that the "wild" isn't really wild to a cat, but their home. On the flip side, they believe that all feral cats should be killed because it's "cruel" to let them live out in the dangerous wild, even if they are spayed/neutered to prevent more litters. Seriously people, pick a side.

Why would I care about an organization that is on record that I should not keep pets in the first place?

Besides- PETA does not want pet food companies to conduct tests on live animals... which may sound nice, but this includes TASTE TESTS! Here is a link to their letter (http://www.iamscruelty.com/letter.asp). The bit about 'palatability' means 'taste'. In other words- the foods on their OK list have not been taste tested on animals, nor have they been tested in the real world for allergic reactions, growth studies, etc.

As far as the food recall goes- any company that responds to this letter in a positive way is at risk for offering dangerous foods as well.

In other words, PETA is playing both sides of this tragedy. It is ranting and raving about foods killing animals it does not want us to keep as pets AND it is actively protesting the very kind of research tha minimizes exactly this sort of reaction.

There may be something bad going on- but PETA sure as heck is not going to report on it in a fair way that helps pet owners.
