Absolutely!!!!!!!!! The first generations of churches tend to be fired up with the Truth and zealous, but as the generations go on, everyhting seems to get watered down. I believe we should wipe clean all the deominations about every 100 years and go back to the basics of Christ.

Which Bible are you reading? Did the early Church got along all the time? Then you are in for a rude awakening. For example, the Church only began on the day of Pentecost See the book of Acts 2:1. Lets go back a little. Jesus and His disciples, weren't they fighting over who will sit with Him in the Kingdom ....Matt 20:1. Then read about the Church at Corinth, the Church at Ephesus and Galatians. You think they got along? Read when Paul had to criticize Peter in his face about eating with the Gentiles, then behind the Jews back... Oh please, no we will never get along until Jesus comes back and claim His Bride the Church. However, we can be more loving to and with each other if we will follow the principles of the Bible. But don't expect everybody to get along today, because the Church had it share of problems back then and is still going through it today.

Pastor Billy says: not sure what your community is but I don't have your problem I'm a practising Catholic we don't have to re-invent the wheel.
Your point of view however reminds me the parable of the seed presented by Jesus. A seed that does not grow falls on poor ground and dies. The idea of returning to Acts is a fantasy simply because Christ's Church is living and growing. The steadfast principles and practises are still here now you just haven't been introduced to Catholicism.

We can get back to basics (spiritually and physically) in our individual lives- and once we learn that these corporate churches are nothing but frauds that take our money and rob us of our individual relationship with God, we can live our conscience before God, and fellowship with other like-minded believers...without some man-made hierarchy over us. In fact, I think we MUST do this...and until such time we do, we're not really living the faith. The current worldly system- including it's economics, it's churches, everything- is designed to keep us from walking with God. "Come out of her my people" "Friendship with the world is enmity with God".

Yes, that is the way it should be. The problem is that many so called Christian are denying the basic beliefs of our faith. They doubt the resurrection and the virgin birth, etc. If a Church doesn't believe in the Apostle's creed I would not go to that Church.

No. You can't go backwards - to imagine that we can return to some semblance of the primitive church is a fallacy, and a dangerous one. We are living in the Spirit here and now, and we have to live in and for the world as we find it, with and through the Church as it is. Puritanical drives to return to the "basics" of the first-century Church are misguided, naive, and dangerous.

I Believe that you have to interpret for yourself what you hear, read and see at whatever sect of Christianity you are involved in. Folks tend to overcomplicate Religion.
My belief is that God Gave us very simple guidlines to follow. You know, The Commandments, Golden rule, etc.
