The appendix is there more for these times than for any others. But never was it created for no good reason... Never doubt God, his word or his creation. Read the book of Job and see why... Read the whole books of the bible and see why...
The appendix serves as a human garbage can and the more poison you ingest, the fuller it gets. If it were to burst, you could die, which is why when someone has an attack, they will remove it. Although I'm very glad to have mine and everything else my Creator saw fit to put into my body.
Scientists just recently discovered that even the oceans had their own forms of appendix or garbage can; it's totally fascinating how perfectly well God created everything, and when the day arrives that He must step in and stop those ruining it, you will see and know all of these things and will have little choice but to praise Him for the rest of eternity as we all will.
Thanks!

It is those very examples that you list that provide proof of our evolutionary history. It is very difficult to imagine how some things, like a bird's wing, evolved, but with others, we have these remnants of our evolutionary past that we haven't quite gotten rid of. As far as hair loss goes, we probably began to lose it when we learned how to make clothing. Body hair was no longer needed to survive the winter. You're right about the ice age, our loss of hair was a disadvantage, but we overcame it with our intellect. Today, we have lots of undesirable traits in our population that would have been weeded out by natural selection if not for technology. As far as the left over organ, you are probably referring to the appendix, which has only limited usefulness today since out diets changed so drastically from that of our forebears. There is an illusion about nature that "everything fits". Everything is here for a reason, and it all fits together, it all works. But this is wishful thinking. Our bodies, and the bodies of many other creatures, carry the remnants of evolutionary history in their genomes, and in some cases, their bodies. Many parts from the past have been modified in an attempt to do new things (think of the Panda's "thumb). Nature and evolution does the best it can with whatever it has to work with. The end results usually are adequate, but are often imperfect.

Just because man hasn't figured out something as simple as an appendix what makes you think its useless. They said the same thing about tonsils 40 years ago.
God created everything for a purpose, He created you too. He knew you would be the one to ask this question.

While once though to be a "useless" organ, science today shows the appendix is rich in infection-fighting lymphoid cells, and that it plays a role in the immune system. It is not a useless organ.
But when the Bible speaks of man being made "in God's image", it is not a reference to how the physical body looks. Since God, as a spirit, has not body, ours could not be made to look like his. Rather it refers to us having the same moral consciousness - the ability to understand morality and make moral decisions - that God has.
In Genesis 2:7, the body is made from the elements of earth, same as all the animals. But then God breaths into the body his own breath (same word often translated spirit) and that is what makes man a living being.

Let's not be so quick to judge. When I was little (I'm 57), it was believed the tonsils were useless, and they took them out if you had a cold too often! Now, they try to see to it that everyone can keep their tonsils, because they realize how they protect you from bacteria.
So perhaps your children or grandchildren will some day be able to explain to you the use of an appendix.
Or, you can choose to believe you already know all there is to know, nothing knew to learn.
EDIT:
Thank you, Jeanmarie
I thought I had heard something good about the appendix somewhere, but didn't remember. What you say rings a bell. You deserve the 10 as far as I am concerned.

I would have to check with a doctor to accurately be able to answer this question because in all honesty I am not sure what the appendix was originally intended to do. I think it may have something to do with digesting or processing foods that are not what man eats now or regarding bacteria etc. I do know that when it goes bad it goes really bad. Mine is gone.

I remember YOU saying one time in regards to incredible miracles, that we simply do not understand enough in the medical field to interpret these phenomenons. When incredible things happen, like a person getting rid of a fatal disease, it is simply an UNEXPLAINABLE phenomenon, not the work of God. You said this yourself. So I am going to say the same thing now. We do not know enough in the medical field as of today to be able to tell you why we have such "useless" organs such as the appendix. Okay?

The appendix isn't useless...
"After birth, the appendix mainly helps the body stave off disease by serving as a lymphoid organ. Lymphoid organs, with their lymphoid tissue, make white blood cells and antibodies.
The appendix, by virtue of its lymphoid tissue, is part of a complicated chain that makes B lymphocytes (one variety of white blood cell) and a class of antibodies known as immunoglobulin A antibodies. The appendix also produces certain chemicals that help direct the white blood cells to the parts of the body where they are needed the most."

Something else to point towards evolution....
Researchers have started thinking that our appendixes (which did serve a purpose at some point,) have started taking on a new job in our bodies....
I don't have any links for that. Read it somewhere, but never bookmarked it.

Evolution is the reason we have such organs.
If not, right about now I'd be very angry at said deity for having created me with an appendix because I'm thinking something is wrong with mine because my right side hurts awful bad.
