Christians usually get involved in wars when injustice is being practiced, or if their country is invaded, like France, Holland etc during WW2.
Christians don't pray for war, not even soldiers pray for war, because everyone knows what the result it. When it comes to global poltics though, you have to draw a line in the sand between being a Christian and being a leader. As a Christian, a leader can be influenced by his or her beliefs, but the end result is always what must be best for the country, to protect the country and its citizens.
For example, many people like to say that HItler was a Christian. If anyone is intellectual enough to reason the life and beliefs of Hitler, they will soon come to the conclusion that he was smart enough to use Christianity for his benefit. However, that didn't stop his organisation from throwing Christians into concentration camps too.
On abortion, a unborn child cannot make decisions, an unborn child didn't even decide to be created. He or she cannot take sides. Many women have been brainwashed since before the 1970's that "it's just a peice of unwanted tissue". Well, I'm sorry, but an appendix can't grow into a human being no matter how long it stays in the body. It's not the same.
There are a lot of women who experience depression etc after the abortion. Why? Because deep down they know what they did is wrong and no amount of sugar coating can disguise the ugly taste in their mouth of what they did.
A soldier chooses to be on the battlefield and fight, accepting the results of his actions, an unborn child cannot choose anything, except to trust that his or her mother will provide all that he or she needs to grow.

I wouldn't exactly say that wars are accepted by the Christian religion; they're accepted no more by Christians than by any other group.
You could go into the whole... abortion kills an innocent life, war (sometimes) kills the guilty. However, killing is killing. On the other hand, do you have the right to protect yourself in the case of a war? What about stopping people who are going to do or have done harm to others? What about abortion in cases where the mother will die if the fetus is carried to term?
There are so many factors in that; your question is overgeneralized.
One thing is certain though, killing is wrong. However, we're humans, it happens, and then how do we deal with it?

Wars are often necessary to save lives. If one side decides to unilaterally stop fighting, the result is usually genocide, not peace.
As for abortion, it almost never saves lives. Even if we ignore the abortions that are performed to save the life of the mother or because of rape, abortions still happen every day simply for the convenience of the mother.
These abortions are like a person getting a puppy from the local pound, taking it out to their car, deciding that they don't want it any more, and running over it. The person made the choice to get the puppy and it isn't endangering their life. Running over it is wrong.
Nearly all pregnancies are the result of deliberate actions by both parents, not because of rape. If you don't want to get pregnant, either don't have sex or be damn certain that you are using sufficient birth control methods to prevent a pregnancy.
Once the pregnancy is started, the human embryo has just as much right to live as a puppy. It isn't the end of the world if the puppy dies, but everyone can see that it is wrong to kill it just because you changed your mind about wanting it. At the very minimum, it is equally as wrong to have an abortion.
...
And just a note, I'm not a Christian.

KILLING A ZYGOTE IS WORSE.
Wars are not fought unnecessarily. Why are they fought? For the other country's misbehaviour, for ones own survival. Here Darwin's "Survival of the fittest" plays a role.
Only the soldiers must be killed in a war and not the innocent people, says Hinduism. it adds that war can begin only if both the sides agree and are ready.
These rules were completely followed in India till 1700. (i.e ) till the invasion of foreigners.
So if the above rules are followed war is not really too bad. But killing an innocent child is unacceptable. It knows nothing. Then why should it be killed?

In a little over 30 years, abortion has killed more human beings than all the wars in human history, and then some.
Abortion, along with terrorism, may well be the "Rider on the Red Horse".
Revelation 6:3-4 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying: Come and see.
And there went out another horse that was red. And to him that sat thereon, it was given that he should take peace from the earth: and that they should kill one another. And a great sword was given to him.
What is more peaceful than a baby inside a mother's womb?
And what is more effective at taking peace from the earth, as baby-killing and terrorism?
War can be justified on several grounds.
Abortion is always wrong.

Abortion is killing an innocent child and is murder. Murder has to do with greed and selfishness. War is to fight against evil, to accomplish something liberating, for freedom and for defending a country. Please go see what a baby looks like at 2-3 months when they usually abort them. Mine was kicking before an abortion and I decided to keep him at the last minute.(Before I became a Christian) He is such a blessing to me and a handsome healthy boy. He was just hugging me minutes ago and saying he loved me too.

It's not "a" zygote... it more like 1.2+ Million "zygotes" per year. Killing is killing and I have yet to hear a pro-choice advocate explain why a sacred choice -- a constitutional right as they put it -- should be exercised "rarely".
By the way - your question made me throw up in my mouth. Mothers at war with their children. It's disgusting.

Please note that while in general abortion is not accepted in the Christian community, not all (or even most) Christians are war-mongers.
I suppose the feeling is that war is sometimes a necessary evil (would you have left Hitler to do his stuff?) but in abortion, there is always a better way, such as giving the baby up for adoption.
Also one thing to note is that many Christians tend to be conservative (what they see as "Christian" is really "conservative" morality), and this can inform how they view their faith.

It is not a question of which is worse, it is a matter of the relationship of the unborn. The moment the child is conceived until he/she reaches the age of understanding is a child of God and the soul of that child belongs to him also. When the child reaches the age of understanding his soul is then made to be secure by his own choosing or left unkept. When children grow up we give them responsibility gradually until they are of an age that they can live in our world by themselves sufficiently well and have knowledge of how things work. Same in the relationship with God, your soul is protected and belongs to God until you have matured and your soul is given unto you as it is yours. The second birth or rebirth is the giving of your soul to God as a Christian and following the word. When you commit the abortion you kill that being that belongs to God. Abortion is not an option to responsibility in God's eyes. Those of the 20,000 men if they had given their soul to God, would not have died unless it was in the name of God or following a path of his own chosing and God as his savior. You can compare the two but killing unborn children of God is an abomination. Every child that is killed is one of the souls that will inherit the earth.
