Some studies show that more and more youth are showing their v-card with pride. So...is virginity become the 'in-thing' again?
All I can say is that if it is that's a very good thing. My feeling is that, indeed, in high schools and on college campuses virginity is not so shameful anymore.

virginity is nothing. How can having sex make you "impure". the idea is just ludicrous. I think it's stupid. it's not some inivisible force field that goes away after you'd had sex.

I'm considered an atheist and I waited until I was 28 years old. I wish I'd waited 4 more years when I met my husband but there are no regrets. I made a promise to myself when I was a teenager that I would not have sex unless I was in love and I've only had 2 loves in my life. The first one didn't quite work out but sometimes you don't get it right the first time. That's ok though. For those who felt shameful for having sex at an early age....don't. Making mistakes is a part of growing. It's when we repeat the mistakes over and over that we become stagnant in our learning. As long as you except the mistakes, learn from them, and move on then you are making progress.

I certainly hope it's cool again. Virginity is not just appealing to the religious. I know several girls, myself included that were having sex when we were teenagers. It was degrading and we only did it because we didn't have enough self esteem to say no. It didn't feel good back then and we didn't feel good about ourselves afterwards. I have always regretted having sex so young, but wasn't honest of brave enough to stand up and say no. I also wasn't brave enough to talk to other girls my age about it and tell them how I really felt at the time. It wasn't until we got older that we discussed it honestly, and we mostly felt the same way. None of us said anything back then because it wasn't "cool" to be a virgin. We all wished we would have waited... especially once we were married or in serious relationships. We weren't Christians back then either.

Look, I don't mind virgin girls, but I very much mind that all of the good ones (read: ones I like) have boyfriends!!! I say: either be virgins, or sleep with me!!!

Horus! Any sin makes the soul impure, that is, soiled, metaphorically speaking. It is no longer clean or free of the "stain" of sin. Good heavens, I'm tired of the ignorance of modern youth.

Yeah, they did that whole born again virgin thing when I was in school....there is no upswing in the trend. It continues to appeal to the religious.
