If Jesus said "turn the other cheek," "how you treat the least among you is how you treat me," "love thy neighbor," and "let he who has never sinned throw the first stone;" isn't waging war anywhere in direct defiance of these dictates? Did Jesus ever say there were exceptions to these directives? If not, why do so many Christians who name their religion for Jesus Christ and worship Him as God, support a war in Iraq that would be in direct contrast to His word? Serious replies only please.

I'm amazed at how many people didn't answer the question and/or missed the point completely.

Christians are the biggest haters and war-mongers. And they do it in Jesus's name!!!! I have never understood that. Like my aunt who is a born again Baptist in the south - but she hates blacks???? How???

what's the WTC? God does not communicate to the Muslims. they do no longer understand the Lord. the only thank you to get to God is by way of Jesus Christ. So don't think them. I hadn't heard that God advised Bush to attack Iraq. He would have, yet Iraq is a living hell now. issues did no longer paintings out properly. Christians and chuirches are nevertheless getting blown up and Christians are fleeing to Syria or Lebanon after going to northern Iraq. yet they have not any the place to pass and living on the streets consistent with probability, will not be able to get jobs. we would desire to have faith God thoroughly or it does not paintings out or perhaps then, the enemy will attack you already know. people love to blame God on an analogous time as they're forgetting the devil is extremely lively in this international.

I don't believe anyone can truly say weather this war is Godly or not. However I do believe that part of loving thy neighbor involves helping thy neighbor. This war is about helping the World live without fear of terrorist. and the war in Iraq is a part of the war on terror. Sure the evidence of Saddam having weapons of mass destruction may have been proven false. But what if it were true? What if we had that evidence and did nothing? Saddam has threatened to use weapons of mass destruction on the U. S. before. So even though Saddam didn't actually attack us or terrorize us. He did threaten us in the past. He did harbor known terrorist and he did himself terrorize his own people. This war isn't just about the terrorist threatening the U.S. Its about stopping terrorist all around the world. So in a sense we helped our Iraqi neighbors. Another interesting point is that war until the end is biblical. War will always rage in the middle east. and war must happen in order to rebuild Babylon. Babylon must be rebuilt before the world will end. Iraq just happens to be right where Babylon was and Iraq is being rebuilt even now.

Saddam broke the conditions of the Armistice of the First Cold War.

I'm a secular humanist, and I have no problems with killing fascist dictators and willful murderers of innocent children.

I'm always amazed at how some people work hard to turn the Old and New Testaments and the Constitution of the US into suicide pacts.

Me, I'm all for survival. And I will lock and load. And so will my brothers.

Well, well, we have a theologian in our midst. Read your Bible and you will find from Genesis through Revelations there have always been wars in the name of religion, not to mention through the rest of recorded History. Don't try to politicize America's religious origins by confusing misquoted scripture with protecting the security and trade interests of the United States. You may remember we have a little thing called seperation of church and state and therefore don't consult the Bible, Torah, Tenack, Koran or any other religious doctrin, documentation or texts when making national security decisions.

Our country is run according to the constitution, not the bible. We are waging war in Iraq in defiance of the laws of man. It has nothing to do with terror either, just oil money and world domination.
