if you wear shoes or socks during the initial 2 week period after getting a tattoo on your foot you risk messing up your tattoo. tattoo placement and work policies should always be taken into consideration before getting a tattoo. what good is a tattoo going to do you if you ruin it before it is even healed? talk to your boss, maybe he/she will understand? my boss LOVES my foot tattoos.

How long are you at work?
You don't want the scabs (assuming it's new and not healed) sticking to your sock and then pulling them off...
Maybe while you are at work you could tape plastic wrap over it so that it doesn't stick to your sock... after two or three days, it should be fine. (I did this some years ago with an ankle tattoo)
Most important, ask your tattoo artist!!!

well, i'd say you'll be fine. i've had tattoos on my lower back that are constantly coveredy by my pants and i haven't had any problems with those healing. just leave it alone, and when you're not at work, take your shoes and socks off. you'll be fine.

if your scab sticks to your socks/stockings, i'd say get the sock/stocking wet before trying to take it off to ease the scab loose from the sock.

your tattoo might fade, it happens, but you can always get it touched up. but like i said, just leave it alone and go barefoot around home till its completely healed.

Sucks for you. There isn't much you can do unless you get your tattoo remove...you can't cover it up I've tried. You can't wear open shoes anyway so I don't know what you have a problem with.
