Yes!!! The only thing that will stop you is if you have "active asthma". like..it still effects you today. And even some people can get by with having asthma in some of the military branches. My husband has sports induced asthma and hes still in the army. They are kind of weird about it and its hard to get around..but its possible!!! good luck but yeah..you shouldn't have ANY problems whatsoever because you had it as a child...not anymore today. talk to a recruiter just to be sure...but im almost 100% sure.

I feel your pain. I've had asthma for 14 years now and have seen several doctors. The truth is, there is no known cure for asthma at the moment. But the symptoms can be prevented. It really depends on what causes your brother's asthma. Mine is usually dust and hot weather. But I think the universal method is using the control inhaler.
I cured my Asthma the natural way?

Do not tell them in your medical interview. Go in acting like the healthiest person in the world. They will try to scare you and tell you that if you fail to disclose any health problems, they will find out and you can be fined or sent to jail. They have no way of checking. The only way they can enforce that is if you had an asthma attack or something that put you in the hospital and at that point, when they check into your history and find out that you knew about it, they will want to punish you for wasting their time and money training you. That however, is hardly ever the case. You can be in the army and develop asthma and the won't kick you out.

i have asthma . i am not in the military but i do know that some people who have asthma are in the military . you need to talk to your doctor for a start and see what he says . then ask the military for a guide or something regarding this how controlled it must be what meds are acceptable and so on . your doctor might have to be involved in this as it may be a very tech time info they give you or your doctor.
