That is cause they don't believe that Jesus IS God. Good for you to know your Bible. Its not enough for us Christians to read the Bible, we have to actually know.

At times, a question such as this will elicit dozens and dozens of elaborate schemes to spare a householder an unwanted conversation with Jehovah's Witness door-to-door ministers.
All such schemes are a complete and utter waste of time!
Many of your neighbors have figured it out, and it's really quite simple:
1. Open the door
2. Smile (optional)
3. Ask "Jehovah's Witness?"
4. Receive affirmation
5. Say, "Thank you, but I'm not interested"
6. Gently close the door (slamming is rude, but your prerogative)
Please recognize that Jehovah's Witnesses are not primarily interested in converts, but in working to obey Jesus' command to preach (Matt 24:14; Matt 28:19,20).

I asked the question...'If I die today would I go to Heaven?"
They said No because I had not been baptized and cleansed of my sins, so I asked them, remember when Christ was being crucified he told one of thieves he would be with him in Paradise (Heaven) today....they couldn't answer my question and left. They haven't been back since.
I am not religious nor well versed in the Bible so when they repeatedly showed up I asked a co worker who is Christian, devout and well veresed after explaining my situation came up with this solution...as you can see it worked and I do hope this helps in some small way.

Here ya go, smartypants:
"By what he here said, did Jesus mean that he would resurrect himself from the dead? Does that mean that Jesus is God, because Acts 2:32 says, “This Jesus God raised up”? Not at all. Such a view would conflict with Galatians 1:1, which ascribes the resurrection of Jesus to the Father, not to the Son. Using a similar mode of expression, at Luke 8:48 Jesus is quoted as saying to a woman: “Your faith has made you well.” Did she heal herself? No; it was power from God through Christ that healed her because she had faith. (Luke 8:46; Acts 10:38) Likewise, by his perfect obedience as a human, Jesus provided the moral basis for the Father to raise him from the dead, thus acknowledging Jesus as God’s Son. Because of Jesus’ faithful course of life, it could properly be said that Jesus himself was responsible for his resurrection.
Says A. T. Robertson in Word Pictures in the New Testament: “Recall [John] 2:19 where Jesus said: ‘And in three days I will raise it up.’ He did not mean that he will raise himself from the dead independently of the Father as the active agent (Rom. 8:11).”—(New York, 1932), Vol. V, p. 183."

I always a tell them that Jesus Christ is God, they don't believe
that. I tell them that their prophets were wrong and they usually
leave. I'll quote John 1:14. They usually leave.

Either I a)don't answer the door
b)let my Jack Russell Terrorist scare the crap out of them and
watch them run
or
c)say," There is nothing you can say to convince me that what I
believe is wrong. Have a nice day. Bye."

Ask them how to tell you their testimony of how Jesus Christ has saved them - they cannot answer - so go ahead and tell them your testimony.
It's when you speak to them of a personal faith in Jesus Christ, they are thrown off balance.

When they come to door, point up into the sky and say, "Look! Isn't that Michael the Archangel I see there?"
When they turn to look, slam the door and pull down the shades.

For the simple reason that you would target such nice people to ridicule them and to make fun of them as opposed to any other religion on the face of the earth, who don't know a thing about scriptures, whereas witnesses know more than you'll ever know and don't ever use the word of God as an excuse for public displays of any kind let alone the sort of trick you like to pull on them when your motive is so painfully obvious that even a blind man would walk away from you if only he had the tiniest grain of God's spirit operating in him, or her. You and your friends are truly sad people to be led by the nose by the impostor god of this system of things who is the only one who has anything to gain by having you hate these people so much that you become your own worst enemy in the process, whereas the true God's spirit or active FORCE totally protects them from petty people such as yourself, who come under the false guise of sincerety but don't recognize sincerety if it was to hit you in the face. They on the other hand, truly understand the words of Jesus when he said that his followers would be no part of this world and people who do the things you do, just to make fun of them, only serves to re-inforce the accurate knowledge of the bible that they have diligently studied, that would make your very head spin in its obvious ignorance but they don't bother. God's pure and holy spirit won't allow them. You're obvioulsy not worthy and for that I'm sorry. Do you really get off on doing such things? Do you really sleep better at night? Do you really feel God's holy spirit at work in you? I guarantee that the answer to all of the above is and absolute: "NO!!!" So why do you bother? To do the will of your father, the father of the lie, that's why... No one will ever feel good with that... and you can't even deny it as it pours out of your very essence, out of your every word, out of your every expression.
Thanks for sending me one step further towards them, who more and more, even in a "TIMES magazine" article, are coming out on top as to who is truly acting like true Christians should act.
Just go look at the arenas or huge halls after they have spent 3 days assembling together with their children and babies and ate, etc. and go back to visiting the streets of Toronto after a brief visit from the pope where they (his people) came to see him for just minutes and you'll begin to know what I'm talking about and I'm not alone! Keep in mind also that he said just as the days of Noah, so it will be in the last days... Only 8 people survived, so even if only 8 million people were to survive what's coming, would it be so very different? I don't think so! And about your anecdote that only Jesus resurrected Jesus. (You prove just how much you don't understand even the basics of the truth about Jesus and the rest of what all he said which makes it clear that he didn't imply for a second that he was taking away from his father the credit of resurrecting him... just because he also had powers for other things including resurrecting others,) you only prove your ability to read, (and then some) and certainly not your degree of wisdom, as Jesus' Father, the One, who Jesus said was the only one deserving of being called "good", when they called him "good", never ever died, nor could he ever come down to this planet, nor could any man ever see and still live. Jesus on the other hand can do all of these things. The more rope is given to people like you, the more they get to hang themselves with and that's all you do when you approach them with your cocky attitude and mere common sense tells them to leave you to your own dead-set pre-conceived ideas.
