Im to be ashamed of this: i dont know how to cook! I hardly know the kitchen, but lately i am greatly interested. I have looked up mac&cheese recipe over Yahoo! Answers. I thought i seek help before getting to a disappointment.

Mac & Cheese:
[noodles]
1 cup elbow macaroni noodles
1/4 teaspoon salt
Bring to boil water and salt, add noodles and cook until tender.
[sauce]
Melt 2 tbsp butter in saucepan and add:
1/4 cup finely chopped onion, sauté until onions are translucent, then add:
2 tbsp flour, cook until flour is absorbed then add:
1teaspoon black pepper
1teaspoon paprika
1/2teaspoon salt
1 and 1/2 cups of milk and cook for 5 minutes, or until sauce thickens, (if sauce is too thick, add a little more milk to thin)
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
stirring in a little at a time until smooth and melted.

Do i necesarily need to put black pepper, paprika, n flour? Where is the egg? Is this recipe complete? If i use cheddar cheese, do i cut it in cubes or melt it??

As for the recipe you listed, the pepper and the paprika are for spice/flavor. You don't need to add them, you can add less, or you can add more. It is up to personal taste. The flour, however, should not be omitted. This is what will make your sauce thicken. You don't need egg. When you add cheese, the smaller the pieces, the faster it will melt. It can be cubed, or grated (or just buy pre-shredded). Make sure that you add a little at a time and make sure it is melted before you add the next bit. You can always add more cheese than this recipe calls for, too.

Macaroni, cooked and drained
Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Cream, enough to make saucy
Butter, smooth out the sauce
Paprika, to taste
Mustard Powder, to taste

Sorry, Im not used to using measurements when I cook. The spices enhance the flavor of the cheese sauce. The recipe you have is an accurate recipe. Its a little bit of work though, having to make a bechamel sauce, then adding the cheese to make your cheese sauce, before adding the cooked macaroni.

Just buy Stouffers frozen macaroni and cheese and put it in the oven. Even simpler than Steve's recipe, but better tasting than Kraft (or generic)box macaroni and cheese...
