Irritable bowel syndrome is a disorder characterized most commonly by cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. IBS causes a great deal of discomfort and distress, but it does not permanently harm the intestines and does not lead to a serious disease, such as cancer. Most people can control their symptoms with diet, stress management, and prescribed medications. For some people, however, IBS can be disabling. They may be unable to work, attend social events, or even travel short distances.

As many as 20 percent of the adult population, or one in five Americans, has symptoms of IBS, making it one of the most common disorders diagnosed by doctors. It occurs more often in women than in men, and it begins before the age of 35 in about 50 percent of people.

If it's dairy that is causing gas or diarrhea, it's most likely lactose intolerance. You can try lactaid pills to eat alongside the dairy products; however, its effect may be limited. I have had lactose intolerance since I was over 10 and couldn't figure out what it was until college. I was actually able to build my tolerance back up by eating yogurt. I still can't take a lot of dairy, but it is definitely better than before.
As for having problems with 'almost every other food', you might want to check with your doctor or nutritionist. You might want to favor foods that are more alkaline than acidic (meats and grains are acidic; fresh vegetables and fruits tend to be alkaline.) I hope you find answers...we feel your pain.

dairy foods are very hard on the stomach. Do not eat any acid foods, junk food, fried food, and foods that contain a lot of fat. These are the ones that will cause the most problems for your stomach.

Oatmeal cooked with a banana is very soothing for the stomach. Do not use milk with it.

Jok porridge
This is probably the single most soothing, safe, and nutritious bowl of soup for people with Stomach problems . It is a wonderful staple and something you might want to make on a weekly basis. Most Chinese people have a bowl for breakfast every morning – not a bad idea at all.

Makes 4 Servings, easily doubled or tripled

1 cup short grain white rice, rinsed and drained
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon peanut or canola oil
1/4 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

For serving:

finely chopped scallions
white pepper
cooked shrimp
soy sauce
toasted sesame oil

Put rice in a small bowl and cover with water. Mix in baking soda, salt, and peanut oil. Let stand at room temperature overnight.

In a large stockpot bring 12 (yes, 12) cups water to a boil and add to rice mixture. Cook at a low boil, uncovered, until the mixture starts to thicken. Reduce heat to a bare simmer, add sesame oil, and cook until mixture is the consistency of porridge. Serve plain or topped with scallions, white pepper, cooked shrimp, soy sauce, and sesame oil to taste.

try these recipes and see if this helps. I've enclosed a link to a website that will give you a great deal of information about problems with Digestive disorders.

Do you notice it being particularly bad when you eat fatty foods? If so you may want to move that appointment up/get an appointment with someone else, preferably a gastrointerologist. A failing/infected gallbladder causes serious problems digesting fatty foods, particularly diahrea etc. If its infected it can in rare cases rupture and the infection could kill you.

It sounds like she has acid reflux ailment for one and you will have merely no longer found the excellent formulation. For the reflux if it is incredibly undesirable the Dr would desire to offer you a prescription or what you're able to do is make certain you burp her after each and every ounce and carry her upright or place her in her automobile seat for a one million/2 hour after she eats. I do think of you will desire to offer the formulation greater time to paintings. it is not reliable to maintain switching formulation considering that's what is going to make her constipated. My son replaced into like that for a at a similar time as while his Dr tried to alter his and his tummy could get so stressful and he could merely scream. The physician informed me to characteristic a tablespoon of dark Karo corn syrup in a bottle jumbled mutually along with his formulation and specific sufficient it softened his poop up and he replaced into all greater effective. be careful however and don't use Karo syrup in each and every bottle because of the fact what it does is draw what into the intestines and in case you supply her plenty it would desire to dehydrate her. My Dr pronounced to do it 2-thrice an afternoon yet I perchance did it once or twice an afternoon for a pair days. i desire this enables.
