No. Church is not a necessity to make it to heaven.
But belonging to a group of believers that you can share your life with, worship with and walk in the light of Christ with makes growing closer to Jesus and living a happy and fulfilling Christian life possible.
Without brothers and sisters in Christ it is almost impossible to make it in this life. When you don't want to follow Jesus life is easier. Once you commit yourself to follow Jesus you become a target for the evel one to pull you back into the world. You will need help with that.

Nope not at all.
The church is about being with a community of believers. What we have now is not even close to what the early church celebrated. The early church met on a daily/weekly basis and celebrate what are called agape feasts - a meal in rememberance, sharing of the gospel and talking about God.
The church is meant to represent the community of beleivers as a whole. Not a building or a certain sect. There is no commandment saying that you have to go to church every week. If you decide to keep Sunday's special, as a day of reflection or set aside time on that day especially for God then you are doing just fine.
Sometimes belonging to a church can be a good thing - it can provide support. But at the same time there can be many negatives that are involved.
Wait to see if you find a church for you before you write it off entirely. It may take years but eventually one may come your way that makes you feel welcomed.
But as for going to hell - not at all. Just because you grace the church doors every week doesn't mean you are a beleiver. Nor make you better then anyone else.

No, but the fact that you're not seeking is troublesome.
As Jesus told peter, If you love me, feed my sheep.
I studied the Bible for 27 years. I left several churches that seemed to follow doctrines that were not Bible doctrines.
I found myself falling more and more into this world. Recently I found a good Bible believing/ teaching Church and once and My spirit has been rejuvenated.
Even the Devil believes in God. The question is , "are you under the blood" It is written " two will be in the holy places (church) one will be taken and the other remain.
Do you believe that the remaining one didn't believe.
First is repentance , then conversion. You must become a new creature.Jesus promised that luke warm churches would be spued out.
It is also written , deny not the gathering of the saints.
Study to show yourself approved of God rightly dividing the word of truth.
Email me if you want to talk.

No, I do not believe that if you don't go to church you will go to hell. If I am wrong, then I will meet you there okay? I am not a big believer in organized religion although it was through an organized religion that I came to Christ. Since that time however, I have become disenchanted with the many differences between the various denomination and their traditions and practices that I have generally pulled away. However, I do everything I can to stay in touch with other believers in Christ and God and to stay in touch with Christ and God on a constant basis. If you can find a church that you believe supports your faith in God without asking you to believe in other stuff not in the Bible, then go for it. You are fortunate indeed. I live in the sticks and have few options so as I said, I usually do not attend.

You don't have to go to church to be saved! Your Grandmother unfortunately is not being honest with you, or she really believes that which is also very sad.
What gets us to heaven? We are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
If you don't like your Grandmother's church then find one that you do like. We aren't required to go, but we do miss out on meeting great people and worshiping together if we don't.
God Bless!!

Being a Christian without going to church is kind of like trying to be a mathematician without going to school. I suppose it is possible that you could figure out addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, ratios, geometry, trig, calc, and statistics all on your own. But it would be very hard.
The purpose of church is not to "save" you. That is what faith in God does. Its purpose is to help teach you about God and your relationships with him. To teach you his word. To provide support for your faith, and people on whom you can practice it. It gives you someone to call when there is an emergency. Someone to visit you when you are hospitalized, or comfort you when you are in grief.
Will not going to church mean you go hell? Probably not. But it will mean you do not have the church to help protect you from the influence and attacks of hell while still in this life.

Going to church is a means of learning the guidelines and beliefs of a particular religion and also communing with others. It's also a place for finding inspiration and helping us find solutions to our problems hopefully. For some of us it's just boring. I don't think you'll go to Hell for not attending. I don't think the Bible lists it as a commandment to go to church. In the Book Of Mormon he does. If you're seriously concerned with it check out some different churches and find out what they believe and see if you fit in. See what rings the most true to you and then decide. Or don't go and wait to see what happens.

The person that is asking themselves "Whats the least I can do and get to Heaven?" doesnt know God. I am shocked by all the ignorant answers you recieved!
Jesus used the word church 2 times.
1. Once to tell Peter that he would be involved with the building of the church (Matthw 16:18)
2. To instruct people how to deal with a believer that wont confess his sin. (Matthew 18:17)
Jesus never said our church is within us. That is more a gnostic belief and for people that want to try to get out of going to church and giving back to God. That simply isnt Biblical
On the other hand, the church is very Biblical.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:19-20
Do other organizations out there make disciples of Jesus other than churches? baptize new believers? Bible teaching?
Gods will is done through todays church. Some of them may be corrupt, but that is our challenge is to make church a great place where Gods will is done, we fellowship with one another, we worship together, give back to God, take communion, make new believers, and take care of peoples needs. How can we accomplish Gods will if we refuse to do church? So the Q is, is a person going to be saved who refused to do Gods will?
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. -Hebrews 10:25

I was faced with this same moral question myself today on Easter Sunday of all day...this was a story that I found written about it that confirmed my beliefs on that situation:
Is going to church necessary for salvation?
I remember the man on the street corner in the city of Miami Beach where I lived as a young man. The man was always on that corner giving away New Testaments "to anyone who wants to be saved." I knew I hadn't been "saved," but I was not convinced I was "lost."
I later learned how easily we can be lost, and how universal that condition is. But along with that doctrine of Sin, I also learned that God, who created us, loves us unconditionally. Yes, unconditionally. Christ died that all might live. Yes, we are called to live in the image of Christ, but God created us as human (fallible) beings and does not reject us for what we do. Our repentance immediately brings His forgiveness. Even without repentance, God loves us, though He may not love our actions or thoughts or words.
I do not believe we must "go to church" to be "saved"; I do believe that as fallible human beings we need some source of recharging, or encouragement, of community and of guidance. Holy Scripture, homilies that give us perspective and God's comfort, the fellowship and strengthening that come from the mystical power of community — all these are food for our soul and can be found in a place of worship.
--The Rev. William A. Kolb
The church is an imperfect institution run by fallible humans. God is holy and He is far too great to be limited by human institutions. If we seek Him, we will find Him, with or without the benefit of a church.

You don't have to go to church, the only reason I go to church is to teach School School for the little ones..What your grandma told you was more like to scare you into going to church..my grandma used to tell me it is a sin to fear death, I was a kid and yeah I did fear death..but things like that are not right to tell anyone young or old..As long as you believe in your heart and love the Lord with all your heart and serve Him the way He wants you too, you will be fine...and your not going to hell...God Bless you
