Easter is such a significant holiday for Christians, I can't imagine not celebrating or recognizing the remembrance of Christ's death, burial, and glorious resurrection. I'm not an early bird, but many of our relatives attend sunrise services and enjoy pancake breakfasts. Many people put flowers on the graves of loved ones. It's still a tradition to wear a pretty new dress, but I think most of us have forsaken the "bonnet with all the frills upon it." We'll attend church on Sunday and enjoy a traditional meal with family afterwards....things like ham, potato salad, green beans, and maybe a coconut cake decorated with jelly beans. It's a beautiful time of year. We enjoy the fun of the Easter Bunny, the colored eggs, the chocolates, the baby chicks, and all the other symbols of Spring, but we remember the real reason for Easter...the sacrifice of the Lamb of God for the sins of the world. He is risen. He is risen. That's the song the earth is singing; just look around at all the trees and flowers blooming. New life. Rebirth. He made it all possible. Time to rejoice.

I am a Christian and the only thing I celebrate is the resurrection of Christ. We go to Church and then spend the day with family having a nice meal. We do give the kids candy. But we do not talk about the Easter bunny, that does not exist.

Kinda hard to believe ' christians' don't celebrate Christ's ressurrection on Easter Sunday, but ya never know.

Normally I'd go to Maundy Thursday services, and Good Friday services and Easter Services, but am not well this year so will watch what services will be televised. I am having my easter dinner sunday.

It's funny many people I know this year due to a lot of factors , like snow , health etc will not be celebrating with families but will do Easter at home by themselves.

I think its the Christians who celebrate for what easter traditionally stands for, not bunnies. Im not a Christian but was raised as one and we still celebrated easter as far as the bunnies go, and we did the church thing, too. Even if your true meaning of Easter is about Jesus, the egg hunts are fun for the kids. A holiday should be fun, too, not just a long drawn out speech about the day that as been heard over and over.

Yes but not in the sense that I think you mean. I celebrate the resurection of Jesus every day. Without it, I wouldn't be who and what I am. As far as the day itself is concerned...I may or may not go to church (I am not a big fan of organized religions) but often are involved in family gatherings if the kids can get home. Because the Easter Holiday and Christmas Holidays are in part a result of what was at one time pagan worship tradition, some Christians of today do not celebrate it in the conventional fashion. Personally, I think what is important is what is in ourhearts...not tradition or doctrine etc.

Yes we celebrate Easter. We attend church & celebrate the resurrection of our Savior. Then we have a family get together. Everyone brings a covered dish & we hide eggs for the tiny tots. It's a great day of celebration & family togetherness

It is amazing how many people do not have a clue that Easter is pagan. Their clergymen prefer to keep them in the dark because Easter season brings in much money into the church. Most church people do not even have a clue that the very word "Easter" comes from the Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring and fertility. They believe they are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus when they are really worshiping the demons.

We go to church every Sunday, but on Easter, it's extra special, because there's usually some great Christian artist performing and the sermon is always great.
