Jesus was not a liberal, politically speaking.
It's hard to transfer what Jesus taught in that day to present times, politically speaking.
Example; Because he saved the woman caught in the act of adultery, does that mean he would be against ALL death penalty cases?
And, if you noticed, while he saved her, he didn't back down on saying she was wrong. ("Go & sin no more.") I can imagine liberals screaming, "Who are you telling her what to do with her own body!"
He obviously wanted the poor to be taken care of, but does that mean he would have wanted the government to be in charge of it? And 50% of the rich man's income being confiscated to pay for it? That sounds more like Robin Hood than Jesus Christ!
He said you have to pay your taxes, but would he have voted for a politician who advocated fixing things by higher taxes?
He taught obedience to the government, but does that mean he wanted a big government?
I can't imagine Jesus being anything but disgusted by mid to late- term abortions, but the Bible is not specific on the subject. The issue of "when life begins" would have to be answered, first.

While you find me some Bible verses that show me Jesus advocating big government and high taxes, over freedom and personal responsiblilty, I'll fill you in on Neocons.
Neocon is a word used to describe a new breed of conservative that is still somewhat socially liberal but who is extremely conservative when it comes to national defense. That is the reason that this term really took off after 9-11, when outraged New Yorkers became somewhat more "hawkish". The group refered to as "neocons" is largely Jewish, not Christian. Most conservative Christians are just "conservatives" paleo-conservatives, gerio-conservatives, same as they ever were. You might say "conservative evangelicals" if you wanted to sound really clever, but be careful throwing "neocon" around, it has a very specific meaning.
Thanks for listening sorry to be jerk.

Although Jesus was a liberal during his lifetime he seemed to set principles and presidence through his words and actions. NeoCons attempt to preserve this tradition of thought processes. It may not have been exactly what Jesus wanted but this is how people can take the actions of a rebel and create a tradition or set of rules/beliefs.

Actually, Jesus and the early Christians were closer to communism than liberalism.

The concepts of "liberal" or "conservative" are completely relative to the time and place a person is in.
I've lived in a couple different places, and even when my political views stayed exactly the same, I remember in one place people called me conservative, and in the next they said I was a liberal - go figure.

if you mean by liberal that he went against the religious order- absolutely. But if you mean politically liberal-how can you say this- Jesus would never be pro-choice about abortion- He is the creator of life.
Religion- Man's attempt to do things for God
Relationship- Jesus already did it all for us

I guess you would have to define for me what you mean by liberal and what you mean by neocon before I bite.

That's the $666 question. All these neo-evangelists seem to go on about is the law, the law the law. I want to see some love and grace and mercy and peace from these folks. I'm not holding my breath.

Basically, because...whoever He was...he did not conform to ANYONE'S labels; spiritual or secular.
To Rome, he was an anarchist and a threat to the political status quo. To the Hebrews, he was someone else.
Basically, everyone sees Him through their own kaleidoscope...

Because Liberation comes with adhering to strong moral principles and willingness to sacrifice the evil temptations. Liberals of today instead of making a sacrifice, are demanding for sacrifice!
