if you sincerely ask god into your lives he will come, if you follow my advice in Matthews, god will give you what you want, so you should give other people what they want, and treat them as you would like to be treated.

not very many people unless they change and take the road less traveled, can attain enlightenment

watch out for believers who are insincere, they look o.k., they go to church and smile, but inwardly they still harbor jealousies, are greedy, and selfish, you can tell by the way they treat other people and conduct themselves. good people treat others well and conduct themselves according to the situation. insincere people will not attain enlightenment.

profressing jesus' name is not enough, you must do your best to follow the will of god, and follow my advice. many will wonder what happened," jesus, jesus, we called on you and professed your name, why did we not go to heaven?"
and i will tell them, you just did not understand.

I am not sure exactly where it came from however, I am sure that it is correct. There are many Christians that are only face value Christians. But you will find them in every religion, race, creed, and every level of society.
I wish that more people did believe like this. It would make the world a much better place to live in. For me my Christian values do not end at the church door, nor do they end when I am comfortable. We must be willing to test our faith to the very limits of our tolerance in order to help further our understanding of Christ and what God expects from us.
I believe that this interpretation is correct, and that the person understood the text to the degree in which it was intended. Thank you for sharing this. I know I did not answer your question, but I was so touched by this interpretation that I just wanted to share what I thought. I feel in my heart that this is a valid and true interpretation.

satthew 7 is about the two WAYS.The Christians are those of the narrow way that build upon the rock. the other way is the broad way of the FALSE PROPHETS who have built on the sand..it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out who the false prophets of the broad way are. They are the second largest religion on earth.. Namely islam. The muslims are the many false prophets who profess they are bringing the word of god to man via the koran.Jesus will say IN THAT DAY... depart from me you workers of iniquity..Paul defined a worker of iniquity as being one who believes and teaches the mystery of iniquity and that mystery is satan posing as god...2 thess. 2..some of christianity will also follow these workers of iniquity.. but the elect will not be fooled..

Yes a very nice chapter.

Ask, seek, and knock. But are you obeying His command (seek His Kingdom first), are you adhering to the principles of the Golden Rule (do unto others), what are your Christian ethics (in your relationship to your Christian brothers and sisters), and do the Beatitudes determine your daily walk or practice?
