Did they diagnose you with anything?
Are those your only symptoms? Have you had these symptoms before? Are they brought on by anything you know, made worse by anything you know, or made better by anything? Are you having trouble breathing? How long does the pain last? Did you have any infections or stress recently? Do you think they misdiagnosed you or that it could be what they found and something else too that is complicating it?
Either go back or find a different E.R. and make sure you have a doctor who knows your whole health history as well as your blood relatives and your environment. They more they know about you, the more they can help you.
There are so many reasons for chest pain, like heart attack, angina (I think also if it comes and goes), cardiomyopathy, CAD, muscle strain/sprain, bronchitis &/or asthma, heartburn (not sure about ulcers), anxiety attacks, hyperventilation, and so on....
I think there's also a website called mydiagnosis.com or diagnoseme.com that can give a list of causes that you can print out and take to the E.R. or doctor with you.
Also check your close family history and distant family history so that people will know what to compare this to if you have not done so already.
Don't wait if you are feeling bad. Chest pain is nothing to mess with if the doctors don't really know what it is. Doctors are not perfect and can some times miss things or misdiagnose.
My mother told me to lay back down and rest and go to sleep, but I had just had this in the middle of the night and it woke me up. I had to go to the E.R. as it was physically distressing me even more not to be able to breathe and making the condition worse.

If I had these symptoms, I'd go to bed. If they didn't change in 24 hours, I'd go back to the E.R. Sometimes, flu can make you feel like this.

See if your doctor will order a treadmill stress test. This can show certain heart problems that might exist.
