I have a hard time believing someone can die for my sins. People die all the time...what makes one more special than the other?

Ah, you see ... you're expecting it to make sense when you should know by now that it doesn't.
As a matter of fact, repentance and sacrifice don't even logically go together. If the price of all the sins of the world -- every one that has ever been committed or ever will be committed -- has already been paid, then repentance shouldn't even be an issue. Regardless of whether or not you apologize to god, does that change the fact that sacrifice has already been made for your sins?
Repentance is, in the traditional sense of the word, a form of sacrifice. Therefore, the need for repentance suggests that we must continue to sacrifice over and over again for our sins, making the "BIG" sacrifice of Jesus unneccessary ... and useless.
Hey, cmpr_girl ... You do know that you can have a conscience without God, right? You do know that you can do something wrong, feel bad about it, and make it right ALL ON YOUR OWN. The magical, mystical man in the sky doesn't even have to be involved. Imagine that ...

If Jesus, the son of God died for our
sins & to protect us from damnation.
This is a little confusing don't you think..
God made us, and gave us free thought,
But if we kept living in sin, then we would
be destroyed, So he sent his only son to
save us from Him, or who ? Did He have
A commity or Board to answer to, someone
to say, Hey look at the way Your Humans
are behaving. We told you this was going
to happen, but you wouldn't listen. He Talked
to moses & some others, Why didn't he just
say in a Booming voice, STOP what you are
doing, or I will destroy you all. If Jesus was
sent to save the world it didn't work - Look
at the state we are in now !!
A push of a button, can blow us all up.

You know what truly doesn't make sense to me? If Jesus died for every bodies sins then why is the concept of original sin still around? If Jesus is truly God then wouldn't he have the ability to say that he will sacrifice himself and rid the world of sin? Oh well it is what it is. A lot of things don't make sense to me in this particular situation.

Good question.
He didn't just die. He took upon Himself the sins of the world so He could fully understand us and become the perfect judge. The personal effects of sin are guilt and anger. By turning all judgment over to Him (e.g., forgiving others), and doing our best to obey his teachings, we can be free of both. This is the plan of salvation or in other words, the plan of happiness.

There are two parts to what Jesus did when he died for your sins. The first was the forgiving of the sinful actions in your past. That could be accomplished without your faith, acknowledgment or agreement. God would simple forgive them.
But the second part is different. That is to free you from future sins. That does require an agreement on your part. That is where the need for a commitment to Christ comes in. It is from Him that we receive our sense of morality. It is through Him that we are changed to want those morals, and to have the strength to live them. Otherwise, they are impossible.
That is why it takes a "believe" or commitment on your part of His death to accomplish anything in your life.

your sins are NOT justified and you have no "free pass" or "Get out of jail free" card. We still can strive for perfection, I guess it is because of people like you that we have people mugging 101 year old ladies, mother's killing their babies in an oven, driving their children into lakes and trying to blame someone else for it.Your selfishness and obvious disrespect hurts God.I by no means am a holy roller but this "new" way of thinking is really GETTING OLD!!!!Grow a conscience.

He's the one that made the gift, that gives Him all the rights to decide how it works.
Kind of like those people who set up scholarships and get all the rights to decide how to qualify for it.

No one dies for any ones sins,no one bears the burden of another,we each are responsible for our own
deeds on judgment day.Our beloved prophet of god Jesus Christ was sent to show us the way,and obey the laws of the all mighty god.

Good point. But the theists will point out a biblical passage that appears to require belief. The whole concept is, of course, nonsense.
