When going to Oahu, you MUST go to the Pearl Harbor memorial.

You must see Waikiki beach.

You must go to Haunama bay to snorkel.

You must see the blow hole.

You must drive around the island through Kailua, and stop at the Byodo-In buddhist temple, then go up north to the Polynesian Cultural center, and stop at the beaches all the way up there.

You must see the north shore.

You must come back over the Pali and stop and lean into the wind.

You must shop at the Ala Moana shopping center.

You must go to a luau.

You must try to eat poi and do the hula.

You must go to Hilo Hatties and buy a shaking hula doll for your car.

You must wear a lei.

You must buy chocolate covered macadamia nuts for your friends back home.

You must be concious that Hawaii is part of the United States, and that to hear "back in the states" is an insult. Say "on the mainland" or "in Carolina" if you have to compare something in Hawaii to another state.

Most of all, you must show respect and appreciation of the land and the people who live there.

These are all "kitchy" things to do, but you must do them, or you haven't been.

On the island of Kauai- in a town called Waimea there is an awesome place called the Menehune Ditch. It has a swinging bridge that is in the air across of the water, it definately looks old, and handmade woven materials helpto form this bridge. It has a legend to it about the menehunes and the best part is that there is a little rushing creek that goes into a little cave. The cave is about the size of a menehune. The menehune is a small magic person theres many legends to them. It is kind of comparable to a Leprechaun of the Irish culture. Here are some links you could look at with quite a bit of information.

here's a local's opinion. i beleive some good tourist hotspots on Oahu are Waikiki, and the beach, the Polynesian cultural center, Diamond Head, North Shore, the Bishop Museum & Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park. on Hawaii, you should check out the beaches & Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park. LOL! Good luck!

Maui (Lahaina, Wailuku, Hana, volcano) artwork you way around the island. In 3 hours, you could genuinelypersistent around Oahu. incredibly some people do their honey moons on Kauai. Why do no longer you jump over Maui, Kauai, Oahu and Hawaii in 3 weeks.
