many times I see people post something like " based on the evidence I've seen I came to the conclusion there is no God "

I take that as a valid statement. In my opinion it is a common post. So my question is how would you suggest going about getting started? ( i know it can't be a 30 minute dvd )

I mean science not linguistic analysis

I honestly don't know why people do this. You could show me all the "evidence" in the world and it wouldn't diminish my faith. And I'm sure the same goes for you. So what does this accomplish?

Do your own scientific study.

Read the entire text (i.e. TaNaKh [Torah, Nevi'im, Ketuvim], Septuagint [incorrect name for the Greek "Old Testament", but sometimes still used], Textus Receptus ["Received Text" a Roman name for a Greek collection of the "New Testament" - Welcome to Rome], the Hebrew texts of Matthew, etc.).

Forget whatever pastors, churches, or anyone else said.

Don't trust translators or translations ("Traditore
tradutore," Translators are traitors.). Learn the language and read it in the original (well, sorta, but I'll tell you later if you want).

Good tools:
Strongs Concordance;
Englisman's Concordance (Greek and Hebrew - tells you everywhere the Greek/Hebrew word is used in the text);
Brown/Drivers/Briggs Hebrew Lexicon (gives information on the Hebrew word - coded to Strongs numbers);
Brenton's translation of the "Septuagint" (also has Greek text);
Tanakh in English and Hebrew (English text will probably be JPS, that's okay, Artscroll has a good translation too [but pricey]);
Textus Receptus (as aforementioned);
Hatch/Redpath concordance of the "Septuagint" (find out the Hebrew word the Hebrew [not necessarily Jewish] writers were thinking when they wrote in Greek, or find out the Hebrew word that the Greek word was translated from);
Matityahu Clark's "Etymological Dictionary of Biblical Hebrew" based on the writings of Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch (find out what the Hebrew words REALLY mean;

Then do all the things this "god" says to do, and not do all the things he says not to, then wait for the promised blessing. You could also do all the opposite and wait for the promised curse, but what if...

Log your experience. If he is real, you'll know. If he's not, you'll know. At that point you will have first hand empirical evidence none can refute.

What?!? Did you think this would be easy?!?

Let me know how your test goes. If you would like to hear my experience with the foregoing experiment, please write.

We know the earth is round because good and honest people tell us it is so. Look for the good and if it is overwhelming there is no need to look otherwise. Some people on the net still think the earth is flat. Enough good and wise people have had experience with God that the evidence is overwhelming. A lot of people depend on "could bes" (could be the Apostles were drunk at the day of Penticost, etc) Belief brings light and truth but doubt brings darkness.

There is no tangible evidence to prove the existence of God. There are many reasons however, to prove it. Since God is a great spirit therefore He has no form. Only matter can produce evidence. Since the Holy Spirit is really not an entity nor the third person in God. (Those who claim it is are either victim of Satan or Satan's reps who pose as holy men) Those who never know God never will know the Holy Spirit. To prove that there is God we need the Holy Spirit to support its claim. The Holy Spirit are the words of God placed into the mouth of the chosen Ones like His Prophets of the Old Testament. If you believe in the words of God and put it into your heart and mind, then you have proven the existence of God through reasons.

They've already seen the evidence but they deny it. You can tell that they are minimally familiar with scientific knowledge by the lame arguments that they present hoping to catch nonbelievers with a contradiction. Many don't understand science well, so they try to discredit its worth. You've got about the same chance of changing that kind of mind as you would have in trying to teach a turnip to sing Handel's Messiah. Good Luck!

Man and God are mutual creations.one cannot live without the other.One cannnot say which came first--chic or egg.Only an action produces reaction.Since there is god ,atheists argue that there is no god.atheism is born out of theism.God resides in every human being--you need not go in search of Him-you do your duty ,do not expect rewards.Scientists first believe in a principle and try to prove it by constant research.you introspect--you will find evidence of god

Based on the evidence they have seen, there is no evidence that a god exists. Therefore, there is no reason to believe that there is one.

It is not so much that there is evidence against the existence of god, just that there is no evidence FOR her existence.

Just like if I claim there is a dragon in my garage without providing any evidence besides my say-so, the claim is rejected.

Scientifically they say that there is no God because of stupid stories that don't make sense like Adam and Eve--we are all products of inbreeding--the ark--guys getting swallowed by a big fish--all that crap makes Christians look crazy.

Yes God and His Son are very real--you just have to pull the stupid kid stories out of the way to find the real message and true meaning.

I think that in matters of Faith it just doesn't work to try to convince people with empirical logic. Either way. I have seen Christians try to defend God here And vice versa.

Since God is known through Faith it does not matter what you say or what they say it's just not on the same wavelength.

Get some pictures. Since many people have difficulty reading, or understanding what they read, it is best to begin with pictures.

Neandertals: Another human race, alive many thousands of years before the supposed date of biblical creation:

This one is from a god-believer's site, but it has good pictures:

There are thousands more sites to peruse. There is more evidence for evolution than ever before. Don't forget to talk about the HUGE amount of DNA evidence that has been uncovered recently.

Look, the hard core fundies there is no hope for. They question evolution in spite of its 150 years of being tested. I could even direct you to guys that still argue the Earth is flat because that is what the Bible says.

Just don't be pushy and tell the truth when it comes up. I like to try to get them to actually read the Bible too. The story is silly enough to get people thinking.
