if file bankruptcy , what happens to the student loans, are they covererd too.

NO, and they will track you down for the money with a vengence...hope you graduated!

There are only 3 reasons for which student loans can be forgiven and bankruptcy is not one of them.

(FYI, they are (1) total and permanent disability, (2) death, and (3) school closing due to failure to meet accreditation standards [the school is responsible for paying back the money because they received it illegitimately in the first place].)

Check with the court. as many are not because they are governement obligations and the courts are controled by the government and they want the money
