I think you already have good answers. My suggestion would be that when you are asking for something and you feel you aren't getting it, perhaps you already have it and just need to know how to use it.
For instance, with a problem I was having I kept praying for
G-d to give me strength. Then I realized I had all the strength I needed, I just didn't know how to use it. I asked for guidance and I feel I received my answer.

Hey, check this out.
Ya'know the really neat thing about praying to God is.
He already knows you completely. He knows you better, yes better, than you know yourself. If you think about that, it is very comforting to know. He already knows what you are going to say or ask. He already knows what is troubling you. He already knows all this before you even begin to think about praying. The exact prayer that you are going to pray next he already knew everything you are going to think and pray, even before he created the world he knew you completely. Praying to an awesome loving God like that, there are no rules. Just pray with a sincere heart.

There are 4 parts to a prayer to Heavenly Father:
1. Open with addressing God such as "Dear Heavenly Father" or "Dear Father in Heaven".
2. List the things that you are thankful for.
3. Ask Heavenly Father for the things you need.
4. Close in the name of Jesus Christ.
Do this in a reverent manner & you can't go wrong.

Praying is a conversation with God. Talk to him from your heart and then listen with your heart. There is no proper way or position. Pray in the manner that is comfortable with you.

Jesus gave a basic format: Our Father in heaven, hallowed (holy) be Thy name..." You probably know the rest. His example prayer includes praise, asking for your needs (daily bread), forgiveness and the ability to forgive, strength to face (or protection from) temptation, and deliverance from evil. Most importantly, it emphasizes submission to God's will (Thy will be done, on earth as in heaven). It's an example of what you could include in a prayer, not a specific prayer that needs repeating.
The first step is to ask for and accept God's forgiveness, if you haven't already, and recognize His grace in sending His son to pay the price for your sins. If you feel you may be in sin, the first thing you should do is to reconcile yourself with God. After that, just go to Him and thank Him for what He's done for you, ask Him for your needs, tell Him your concerns- talk to Him as though He's your Father and your Friend! That's what He wants! There's no prescribed way to pray; if it comes from your heart, that's what's important.

There are three prayer postures. Laying down, kneeling, and standing up with your head down. All of these your eyes will be closed. You may speak aloud or in your head. You may start it like a letter like "Dear God, Our Father in Heaven, etc." Then continue and mention your requests like if your mom is sick or something in that nature. Give thanks to God also because He created you. When you close you say "Amen" which means "so let it be" in a language in Israel. The Lord's prayer can be found in Matthew 6 verse 9 in the NIV version of the Bible.May God bless you and I hope I have helped.
And smile! God loves you.

Prayer is simply talking to God and/or Jesus. That's all you really need to do. He wants to hear you speak the words of your heart even though if you are a believer in him he already knows your need.
Just be in a quiet place with no distractions and talk to him just like you would talk to your best friend. After all, that is what he truly is.

Just like the others said. Talk to God out of your heart. Believe by faith that he hears and answers...Most importantly, pray when and where you are comfortable. I pray while I run.

talk to God like you'd talk to a friend who you trust completely. tell Him how you feel. pour out your heart to Him. You don't need to say it out loud, i normally just think a prayer. if this doesn't work for you there are tons of prayers written by saints and such (it depends or you religion though).
peace and God bless, i'll be praying for you.
