I know that up till perhaps the 19th century many religions looked at the black man as part of Cain's curse. Though I am not sure where the idea comes from. The verse in question does not say what the "mark of Cain" was. All we know is that anyone who saw him would have known he was marked by God and not to mess with him.

Genesis 4:15 (New International Version)

Genesis 4:15
15 But the LORD said to him, "Not so [a] ; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him.

You might check their website or Google Mormonism and see if you can find sites of credibility.

They did indeed believe blacks were cursed, in the Journal of Discourses Brigham Young explained that god marked cain for killing his brother that mark being a flat nose and black skin. This says that the mark means they can never hold the priesthood in the mormon church. He also says the penalty for a white man to marry a black person is death on the spot. THis doctrine was changed in `1978 but still did not explain the mormon explanation to why people had black skin.

We don't believe that black people are the angels that were cast down with Satan. Those angels that were cast down with Satan will never receive a physical body of flesh and bone. Blacks are not a curse. However, many times God has cursed people and the SIGN of the curse was dark skin. All you need to do is look at Cain in the Old Testament who received a mark (a mark of dark skin) that his seed would not mix with the rest of Adam's children. However, blacks are not cursed people if they submit to the will of God and believe in Jesus Christ just as anyone else. The real curse is the curse of unbelief that people choose to be cursed with by hardening their hearts against the truth! Basically anybody who doubts the truth is cursed in their hearts.

No. It's not true. Those cast down out of heaven with Satan will never live on this earth or gain a body, that was part of their punishment.
No, we do not believe blacks are cursed. This is a very sensitive subject because of early church prophets who I guess gave their opionion on "black" people, which sadly may sound racisit. There are racisit people in every religion, we are not perfect.
The LDS church invites all, no matter color or gender, to come unto Christ and be perfected in Him.

Impossible, since the angels cast down with Satan will NEVER receive a mortal body.

There is one school of thought, tho, that in the war in Heaven, those who are black didn't fight as valiantly as others, but I don't believe that.

I seen this on tv once. I suppose some people have to put themselves above others somehow.
Perhaps that's why I'm not mormon.

They USED TO believe all of that.

Then the government of the USA warned them that they will be prosecuted for their teaching.

ALL OF A SUDDEN they got a new revelation that all the above was NOT true!

(But they still believe it!)
