No, of course not. Yes, it is true that God had the power to stop the Holocaust. However, by doing that He would have taken away men’s free will, which is against His teachings. Many evils are present in the world, but they happen because God doesn’t have us all on marionette strings making us do the things he wants. So basically humans do evil things, and God lets bad things happen… but that’s the price of freedom I guess…

No, God did not make it happen. On the flip side of that same token, he promised he would not intervene with man's decisions. That's the free will thing.
This is man's world. A gift given by God for us to exercise our free will. To make choices: good or bad. This is what man wanted.
When Adam and Eve went against God, they basically said "I can do this on my own, I know what I'm doing." God said "ok then."
The same evil force that brought about the Holocaust is going to be the very same force that starts WW III.
I can tell you, the U.S. is in for a surprise. 9/11 is a splinter compared to what we are going to face.

God never make any tragic thing to happen. With His curse He allowed it to happen. The Jews may still have not completely understood the Commands of God and that they continously make errors. The "holocaust" was planned by those who hate the Jews and since God is still disappointed with them, He allowed such thing. That is fulfilling what He said in the Book of Prophets that 3/4 of their population will suffer and 1/4 will survive to learn from it.

The Jews have been persecuted for centuries. Read the Old Testament book of Esther. Haman was like Hitler but got hung on a gallows made for the Jews He wanted to destroy.
God said the Jews (His chosen people) are a stiffnecked people. They are blinded by their own ambitions. God has removed His hand of mercy and therefore Satan has taken advantage of this. You could say the same for America if we keep sliding away from God.

God doesn't make anything happen, people make things happen. Hitler made the Holocaust happen, though he did not act alone, after all Hitler was a great speaker, very persuasive, kind of like the modern day advertisement hound, he preyed upon the peoples' weaknesses to get them to follow him into genocide. I am not trying to be mean or anything but remember that people have the power to make the world great,or they choose to make it horrible.

Can we please get over the fact that this was a) not the only genocide in history and b) not even the worst? People always flaunt it around and what have you learned from it? Nothing, when 100,000 men, women and children were literally hacked to death in Rwanda, did anyone care?
This question all depends on whether you believe in God and if you do believe in God, then do you follow Judeo-Christian ethic and if you do, then you should know about free will. What happens in our history is ours and ours alone to take responsibility for, don't try to pass the buck. It was their choice to do what they did and the choice of other nations to ignore it until they no longer could. God had nothing to do with it.

There is no god so the answer is no. Evil arrogant people made the Holocaust happen. Under the right circumstances something like that could happen again. We should all be careful not to hate others for their individual beliefs. It is like when bullies gang up on the nerds.

No! But He was very, very disappointed in humanity -- that they were indifferent and turned away from the atrocities!
There are other atrocities occuring in the world right now as we sit at our computers. Thousands are dying in the Sudanese genocide. Will we sit by and let others destroy God's children? How many of us will wait for God to come to the rescue once again. God didn't cause it -- it's up to US to prevent those atrocities from ever happening again! Not on our watch!

Since there is no sky daddy, no. The roots of the holocaust go back at least 100 years in Germany, and back at least 2000 if you wish to trace racial hatred of jews by non-jews. The Germans knew what was going on, as did the Polish. Two interesting books you might wish to read:
1. "The Catholic Church and Nazi Germany" (forgot the author)--may be out of print, but you'll be able to find it somewhere...
2. "Germany Tried Democracy"--probably the authority of this subject during this era.
3. "The Diary of Anne Frank" super inside view, and always in print.
