EASTER TRIDUUM -
Easter Triduum, or Holy Triduum, or (or Paschal Triduum) is a term used by some Christian churches, particularly the ROMAN CATHOLIC Church, to denote, collectively, the three days from the evening of Holy Thursday (or Maundy Thursday) to the evening of Easter Sunday. The Triduum begins with the evening Mass of the Lord's Supper (or, where this is not celebrated, Vespers of Holy Thursday) and ends after Vespers at sunset on Easter Day.
The term was first used for this purpose at the Second Vatican Council, whose revised liturgical calendar set the final part of Holy Week apart from Lent proper. Among other things, the change meant that purple vestments would henceforth no longer be used on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, with the color being changed to white on Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday and to red on Good Friday in commemoration of the crucifixion. (The color for Palm Sunday was concomitantly changed from purple to red.) In addition, no elective Masses (such as weddings or funerals) could be celebrated on these three days. Prior to the reforms of the Second Vatican Council weddings were prohibited throughout the entire season of Lent and during certain other periods as well. Now they are prohibited only during the Triduum and a few other solemnities.-

Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter the Triduum of the Catholic Church.
Holy Thursday marks the ending of Lent, which is a time of personal sacrifices and making amends, and is marked with a ceremonial rememberance of the Last Supper, the sharing and blessing of bread and wine which became the holy eucharist.
Good Friday. Called 'good' because of Christ's sacrifice and death on the cross for our sins, past , present and future .
Easter, the celebration of Christ rising from the dead to fulfill the promise of everlasting life and resurrection promised to all who believe.

Triduum is Latin for "three days". It refers to the rites of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil, which are considered one event, commemorating Christ's last supper, his passion and death, and his resurrection. Among the rites are a ceremonial washing of feet, stripping of the altar and removal of the Eucharist to an "altar of repose", veneration of a cross, intercessory prayers for many peoples, lighting and blessing of a Paschal fire and candle, multiple readings from the Jewish scriptures, baptisms of new members and the proclamation of "alleluia" and the Gloria.
