I am 19 yrs old and in college my best friend is a guy i have known since freshmen year in highschool.I really care about him and we have been through it all together he knows everything just about me and vice versa.Anyway latley he wants to hang out all the time ,has been getting very touch feelie, invading my personal space a little to much, and kind of creepie when he looks at me.I like him as a friend but am not attracted to him in that way.Tried giving him hints but he has not taken them?

Just tell him bluntly. Men don't pick up on subtle hints. It'll save him a heartbreak later on.

ive went through the SAME EXACT situation! and i know exactly how you feel. you just have to be straight forward with him, and tell him that you care about him and all, but that he is just your best friend, and that is just how you think of him. nothing more, nothing less. as far as the touchy feely situation.. you just have to tell him direct to respect you, and that he is making you feel uncomfortable, and you would appreciate it if he would just stick to the casual hugs, or a kiss on the cheek when you say hello or goodbye. it might be hard to let him know that way, but believe me, you will feel better that you told him all of this. after telling this to my best friend, he has never crossed any of my boundaries again, and understood me.
good luck<33

Your safer just telling him its gonna hurt him in the long run.Guys dont find rejection as easy to get over.Plus if he is really a good friend losing him might turn out worse thn letting him think he has a chance if i was him i would rather you told me so i could move on..

Tell him strait out the hint crap never wooks. You could try and date who knows you might like him. if he has crossed that line the friendship thing is already gone so ?? Dont be a hater dont dislike him cause of looks and social statis and stuff. that always gets on my nerves

directly tell him that you like being his friend...and friend only. You could also say something like, "you know, i don't want to be anything more than friends.."
he may be a little embarrassed, but he would be more embarrassed if he asked you out and you told him then

Just tell him kindly...but firmly...that you aren't interested in a relationship with him, and don't be afraid of hurting his feelings. He'll feel worse if you lead him on.

Be direct. And if he won't take it just walk away. You are wasting both your time and his.
