I have nothing to feel guilty about, I was watching an informative video on the American Atheist Organization and it made me wonder. I mean I have quite a few homosexual friends so I am huge advocate for SSM I think that my no one should be told who they can love.

Don't be confused... Atheists are not a part of a religion or social group. They are simply individuals who do not lend any credence to religous beliefs or god...
So this is an issue of individual taste, not an established standard or doctrine.

One doesn't have to belong to an atheist organization to have an opinion on same sex marriages.
I personally have no problem with SSMs and the handful of atheists and atheist organizations i keep up with tend to have similar views.

I am an atheist, but not part of any atheist organization. I support equal rights for women and homosexuals.
I think homosexuals should be allowed to marry and pay the additional income tax penalty associated with marriage. I support loving homosexual couples adopting unwanted babies.

Since I am not an atheist, thank G-d, I can't answer your first question.
Regarding atheists and same sex marriages, since atheists' morality isn't dictated by G-d and the Bible, but based on personal values, it varies according to different people.

Why do you want an answer from an atheist? Do you feel guilty? I have never heard about atheists beeing organized! If you are religious, and you feel you are doing something wrong, just stay away from it.

I'm not a member of any organization, but I'm a 100% supporter of same-sex marriage.

I don't belong to any organization, but I believe strongly that gays should have the right to marry each other if they wish.

I belong to Secular Humanists. Not only do we support gay marriage, we are activists in allowing legal rights for homosexual marriage.
Oddly enough, I don't think there are any homosexuals in our group either!

personally I think atheist organizing like a religion is foolish.... it should be called society.... a society of atheist would presumably be called a group of individuals.... Thinking that they are not christian should respect the individuality and differences of others....
