We were created to worship him and spread the gospel.
Being made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27), human beings have the ability to know God—and therefore love Him, WORSHIP Him, serve Him, and fellowship with Him. God did not create human beings because He needed them. As God, He needs nothing. In all eternity past, He felt no loneliness, so He was not looking for a “friend.” He loves us, but this is not the same as needing us. If we had never existed, God would still be God—the Unchanging One (Malachi 3:6).

Hello Madam,
Think about something, that you left lonely in this world. Don't you will be bored. It is not that God would have been feeling bored and that is why he created us! But it rather the other way, God created us because he wanted us to Love Him, Praise Him, Worship Him, Glorify Him and be with Him always.
As he powerful and lovable God, he is still forgiving our sins what we do unknowingly (like the answers you have got).
So do not question God, but thank Him in his plan for you.

I am not 100% sure why God created man, but I would like to give you my honest, educated opinion:
God is the embodiment of love. ("Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love") (1) God created us so He could show His love to us. He created this vast universe and gave us dominion over this earth. All throughout history, his grace and love has never faded or gone away. He created us to express His love to a creation that could choose to love Him back, which is why we are given free will. Love cannot be coerced or forced, but it must be a choice. Otherwise it is not true love.

Right on girl. With freedom of choice came egos and everyone has them. Problem is some think there just better and can't get over the fact that they are not indeed in control of their lives.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the pearly gates of heaven just watching some of these egos try to weasel their way in.

You are right. God placed us here for His pleasure. God gave us life, we should not want more from Him.
Oh and before people start giving this the thumbs down consider how you would be able to do that if you have never been born??

God created us for His enjoyment. Why does a father create so many children? For enjoyment.

I BELIEVE that it was and still is a two way proposition--
--Although Jehovah God & Christ Jesus do not need us for their happiness , because that indeed self contained.
--For example, we do not need animal life to exist, but they bring us sheer joy by their being among us!
--ALTHOUGH, in no close comparison to the intereaction with animals & us to any great degree the analogy is similar except that there is a true exchange of love with God & humans, whereas the animals have a measure of affection , that cannot be developed by principles. Please note:
(Proverbs 8:22-31) “22 “Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago. 23 From time indefinite I was installed, from the start, from times earlier than the earth. 24 When there were no watery deeps I was brought forth as with labor pains, when there were no springs heavily charged with water. 25 Before the mountains themselves had been settled down, ahead of the hills, I was brought forth as with labor pains, 26 when as yet he had not made the earth and the open spaces and the first part of the dust masses of the productive land. 27 When he prepared the heavens I was there; when he decreed a circle upon the face of the watery deep, 28 when he made firm the cloud masses above, when he caused the fountains of the watery deep to be strong, 29 when he set for the sea his decree that the waters themselves should not pass beyond his order, when he decreed the foundations of the earth, 30 then I came to be beside him as a master worker, and I came to be the one he was SPECIALLY FOND of day by day, I being glad before him all the time, 31 being glad at the productive land of his earth, and the things I was fond of were with the sons of men.”
--Similar to his fondness with Jesus, as the "master worker" Jehovah certainly has shown his great love for humankind in that he "gave his only begotten son."--& indeed Jesus does have a great fondness for humans, OTHERWISE he would not have given his life for them
--God has indeed provided abundance beyond imagination to please and continue to please mankind as this text states:
(James 1:17) “17 Every good gift and every perfect present is from above, for it comes down from the Father of the [celestial] lights, and with him there is not a variation of the turning of the shadow.. . .”
--When the full force of Christ's ransome sacrifice is applied to mankind who love him & God , the joys will continue to multiply with each adventure in life, So different from now!
--But most humans take so much for granted that they seem never have enough IN THEIR OWN EYES of the good things we already have in abundance!

I don't hunt bears, so I don't try to look for sites of those who do and 'jump on hunters'. It just shows the plain stupidity of those who don't love God who still come to this site and 'jump on Christians' for no apparent logical reason. Does it?
