Heat loss processes include, radiation, conduction, convection, evaporation. All these work, but I believe they all ahve ther limitations. For example, conduction won't work very well if the person comes in contact with an object that doesn't conduct very well. Evaporation will be limited if the air is already very humid (saturated). Convection will be limited if there is no circulation.

Perspiration. The sensible and insensible perspiration in humans (and most animals) allows heatloss by evaporation.
