The one I know fitting the context of kitchen/cooking and which explains why Italians like stay longer sitting down at the table to eat is :
"A tavola non si invecchia" / " At the table people are not growing old".

Another one related to the cooking is
"Troppi cuochi guastano la cucina" that's " too many cooks
damage the cooking" with the meaning that in order of getting a good result all the meals must be prepared by only one person.
