Would you say that they are both congregations of the same church, sect, denomination, religion, etc.?

If yes, by what standard are they the same?

If no, then why are there those today that teach different things than the original church taught; yet they say they are still the same church that Jesus built?

If we teach a different and changing doctrine, doesn’t that make us a different church? To be the original church, shouldn’t we teach the original doctrine?

I think it depends on the thing being taught. If it is something that is DIRECTLY from scripture & one group is following it & the other isn't, then they two VERY different groups. If it is something that is not directly from scripture, like whether or not you can sing from a songbook vs. a PowerPoint or overhead or maybe whether an overhead or PowerPoint can even be used during worship, then I think they are likely close enough theologically to be considered part of the same group.

None of the churches today are teaching or following the original doctrines. Once the churches established the official christian doctrine based loosely on the current collection of 66 books of the bible (73 if you're catholic) no one has been able to credibly challenge it. That will change.

First off...Jesus did not build a church or by the words of the Bible did he even insinuate that an organized religion was to begin. He simply stated to his deciples that they were to spread his word throughout the world. Man builds churches and man builds doctrines.

The only way that most Christian churches are alike is in their core belief that Jesus was the Son of God and that his sacrifice on the cross (tree) was to pay for all the sins of those that would believe in him.

As you can probably tell, I am not a big fan or organized religion but I do love God and I do believe that Jesus was sent here by God to do what he said he was doing.

No, they aren't the same. The Christian church, as an example, has split out into so many branches who knows what is Truth anymore. The only Truth you will find is the Truth you feel resonate through your body when you hear/read it. The Bible has been edited, re-written, re-translated, books left out... there is not much truth left there.
