I am very toned and quite strong (14 years old, only man boobs are pure muscle) but I have been told I am very thin - kind an ego buster :(

Some people are modest and do not, but I see no harm in it, except when social custom demands a shirt.

The general answer is that you should not place others in a position they feel uncomfortable. So although it is hot you should think of others. In normal surroundings others will feel uncomfortable with seeing big bellies and a hairy breast. The etiquette would say then that no man should wear no top. On the beach it will be normal.
I myself would not have a problem with it. And being thin is certainly not something to feel awkward for. But I will not walk around with no top on. Although I have no belly and many man will look worse.`

There's nothing wrong with a guy not wearing a shirt in the hot weather. However, it all depends on where you are. If you're going to go into a store, you must have a shirt on. Thats just the rules. at the beach/pool, doing yard work, in the house is fine, but if you're going to go into a store, make sure you have a shirt.

It's okay on the beach or when practising some sport. Should not do so in the street, any other public area, not inside a cafe or restaurante, even if these are located by the seaside, but it's accepted generally if these right on the beach itself.

If you're going to go into a business, you generally need to have a shirt on. There might be some places where they make exceptions to that---like places that are near the beach, or places where it is really warm all the time---but most businesses want their customers to have shirts on (shoes too).
I usually keep my shirt on, though. My body isn't that bad. I just don't feel comfortable doing it. To each their own.

Yes it is normal, some block regardless of there size like to take off their tops when its really hot, not sure why but they do!! It's OK for a man to do it but the minute a woman does it, it is deemed socially deviant....double standards lol!!!!

The trouble is that most of the people who dress for the beach in the High Street are the last people who should. I hate seeing fat, sweaty bodies. They should cover up.

Of course it's normal, though not nice to look at sometimes! If you have a good toned body then why not but man boobs is a no no.

Its just more acceptable for the male to go topless in the streets, whereas a female usually keeps her breasts covered.

I think it's fine, I'm female so I don't do it but it shouldn't be a problem, people show lots of skin all the time and even if it's not all pretty... we don't require someone with an ugly face to wear a bag over their head do we?
