That depends on how fast or slow you read. It also depends on how much you want to study the book. If you want to just read over it, instead of vigorously study it, you could be well into the New Testament by now. Or, you could even be done! It all depends. I'm curious of why you're asking this question anyway. Is it that you want to resume reading at a place where you believe that you should be and pretend that you read to that point? If that's the case, I hope nobody answers this question specifically for you. You don't really even have to start in Genesis.
The Bible is not a single book, although it has been combined to seem that way and many people call it 'the book.' The word Bible stems from the word "biblia" which actually means, if translated into the English, 'books' or even 'library of books.' You can start in the book of Isaiah, if you want. You can even begin just reading Romans. Skip around. The Bible from front to beginning doesn't really have too much of a continuous story line save for the first 5 books of Moses.

Why can't we be more like JV and Ike and answer the question?
I figured 2 Chronicles chapter 13. That is 380 chapters, so by the time you get there you will still be behind. I would recommend reading 8 chapters a day so you should be caught up in about three months.

This question be in the math and homework section!
4 Ch / day * 3 Months (roughly 90 days)
At 90 days, you need to be about 360 chapters in.
Here are the books and their chapter counts up to about 360.
Gen 50
Exodus 40
Leviticus (an evil 27 chapters)
Num 36
Deuteronomy 34
Joshua 24
Judges 21
Ruth 4
1 Samuel 31
2 Samuel 24
1 Kings 22
2 Kings 25
1 Chronicles 29
2 Chronicles 36
So you should be finishing up 2nd Chronicles of this great novel.

I would recommend starting with the Gospel of John and then heading on to Romans (which is essentially a Cliff's notes of the New Testament) and THEN go on to Genesis. Just a thought!

i think that if you start today and read two chapters a day before you know it you will be done.
as far as knowing how far you should be - break out a calendar and figure it out.
good luck
edit
i agree with the people that said if it's your first read through start with the new testament. that applies more to your life.

Take an afternoon, and sit at the park and read. before you know it, you will be past where you need to be. The book of Genisis is the most fun to read. It has most of the classic stories, Adam and Eve, Noah and the ark, and tons of other ones. the first 4 or 5 books of the Old Testament are the easiest to read (in my opinion....). good luck, honey.

LOL! I lost my calendar that listed the daily readings. I meant to do that, too. And I too am a mom of 3. Evidently three kids exempts us from doing this activity. Sorry, I'm no help, but I sympathize.

There are 726,109 words in the NIV translation. Divide that number by 365 (non leap years). That is your daily reading requirement.
There are 52.2 work weeks in this year. You are now nearly at the end of work week 14.
The math is left as an exercise for the student. (smile)
