I'm dating a new guy and he has alot of friends that are girls, which doesn't bug me because I have alot of guy friends, except he's very affectionate with them, even calling one sexy this and that (on myspace, not to me). My guy friends never call me sexy...that would just be strange, but most of them have hit on me at one point or another, which makes me wonder if guys can really be just friends with a girl. Basically the whole "When Harry Met Sally" argument, does sex and attraction play a part in why a guy wants to have friends who are girls?
Men what do you think?

No.
Girls can be just friends with guys, but guys can't just be friends with girls. Two problems:
1) Guys want to nail them and that is why they are being friends with them to begin with. This goes for all girls too, not just the hot ones.
2) For a guy, girls make really bad friends. The two don't have the same interests (nailing girls), and men can't be themselves around girls.
So to answer your question, men are friends with girls only because they want them for girlfriends. Friends don't hit on other friends, therefore those guys were never really your friends to begin with.

The same goes for girls going for stupid guys. Its often the good people that are left single. Also you can't assume a person is stupid because he/she says "um" or asks dumb questions, sometimes those end up being the smartest. Great minds dont think alike. Anyways, I fancy intellectual girls, but Im often overlooked for the taller, more socially adhering, stupid guy; people have become overly picky on dating, which comes from social influence. As I grow older, I start to realize that I will be single unless I can dance, go to clubs and have conversations about pointless useless ****. Oh, and I;ve been to college, and it didnt help.

Well, it is difficult to answer for every guy but in a general way man like the company of women. To answer more your question. Your friend must have a need of flirting and "conquer" other woman but it does not mean that he will go to any physical activity...
It is just part of having fun and making his friend and himself feel good. Just having fun and being friendly...
In all the case there is a very fine line between good friend and lover... so be careful on where do draw the line...

Yes they can... I have a lot of females who are just friends but most of them are people I grew up with not people I just met. That plays a big factor into the game because I see them more as sisters and I could never picture myself dating any of them.
It's not impossible... some guys are just really friendly toward everyone. I'd put myself in the category.

From a girl: I think that one of them will fall for the other eventually. It's okay to have friends of the opposite sex but there have to be limits set and they should never be your best friend. Just think: how did you feel when your guy friends hit on you --how do you think your BF girl-friends feel when he calls them sexy & if it is so normal why doesn't he say it in front of you??? ***BECAUSE IT IS DISRESPECTFUL TO YOUR RELATIONSHIP***

obviously im not a guy lol but i can say that definitely a girl and a guy can just be friends its weird because i noticed that body language and chemistry seems to play a big part on whether you are interested in him or not same goes with a guy wanting a girl

I think so. I have a lot of guy friends and i'd say we occasionally flirt and no action is taken towards it. I think it's easier when the two people have no attraction to each other whatsoever. I dunno, i wouldn't worry about it too much but i'm not a very jealous person. I just figure if they wanted to be with that other person they would be, but they're not they are with me.

Men and women can only befriends in certain circumstances:
1) they find each other unattractive
2) one of them is taken
3) they don't spend time together where it's just the two of them.
