My father works for the #1 gas/oil refinery in the world and he said that oil companies are just greedy, the Prez lied and said that we had a shortage...its all politics. I remember when gas was like .89/gal(1997)...I could fill up my little car with $10. Those were the days.

Isn't it amazing how high gas has gone, and how quickly it goes up when oil men are presidents and vice president? Isn't it amazing that the war in Iraq is run by Halliburton, (Cheney's boys) without a contract from the govenment? That same Halliburton who has come under fire for not being able to account for $50 billion dollars of funds it has received for the war in Iraq is now moving from the United States to Dubai to "position itself better for competition for oil reserves in the middle east." But then, we all know that oil has nothing to do with the war in Iraq. And, of course, Halliburtons flight from the US has nothing to do with that fact that there may be prison terms for executives now the Democrats are closing in on all the fraud. And the fact they can avoid paying taxes on all of the windfall if they are not an American company anymore was not a consideration in the slightest. But of course, if I am a Republican oil stockholder, I can't make this correlation. It is all a democratic, liberal media, unpatriotic American conspiracy. Right!!!!

Because summer is coming. And because the government only helps the people that line their pockets the fattest. Big Bisiness. If you want to help bring awarness then direct people to free energy. Just type it in on the search engine and educate yourself. Free energy exists. And with it, the fall of every goverment in the world. If energy was free then the politicians wouldn't keep getting rich for doing nothing but making bull$%&* laws. If free energy doesn't exist then there would be no lightning, static shock or a sun in the sky. It is all in our reach. Even if it wasn't.....people have been killed for patenting carburators that make you car get 80-200 miles per gallon of gas.

Because Bush and his oil buddies are taking advantage of every american so they can line their pockets..I think that something should be implemented where every american that commutes should boycott and not use their cars for just one full day, can you imagine how much the oil companies would lose? Maybe that would get them to start lowering prices instead of getting greedier by the day...I would be down for it if it was ever implemented.

It is because as we use more oil the less oil we get. I learned this in social studies: the more people want it and the less they have the higher the price. That was kinda obvious but its just like something in a store.

Mostly because of the Chinese -- they are "driving" up the demand for oil, so the cost goes up for all of us.

Some relief could come if we, in the US, would build more refineries, but that ain't gonna happen anytime soon, especially with the dems in control.

Oil producers can set their price...because Americans are too dependent on gasoline. If we had alternatives...believe me, the price would drop!!!

probably because the summer is coming, and they are having to replace gasoline to fit the weather specification. of course, theres issue with politics.
