Any time that you proclaim the Gospel, you'd better be prepared to engage in some serious spiritual warfare. The devil does not take lightly to anyone threatening his kingdom and freeing the captives. Paul describes the equipment needed for spiritual warfare:
Eph 6:13-18 "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints."
Pleading the Blood of Jesus over yourself and all that pertains to you on a daily basis is one of the most effective defenses against Satan. He has no power over anything that is covered by the Precious Blood.
And as a Catholic, I believe that sacramental Confession of our sins robs Satan of power over us. In exorcisms, demons cannot accuse the presiding priest of any sins that have been confessed and absolved. Unconfessed sin is free game for their attacks, however.
Lastly, the Eucharist strengthens us against the devil and his influence. We are stronger in the Lord when we are united with our brothers and sisters in Christ:
Ecclesiastes 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
So the armor of God, the Blood of Christ, and the sacraments of the Church are the weapons we need to use on a daily basis.

Well, snarky questions beg for snarky answers ;-)
Respectful questions get respectful answers.
If I'm in a bad mood I'll snap at someone who thinks it's cool to act like a jerk... and I also admit to getting riled by people who get off on the idea of their fellow men suffering eternal torment because they disagree with them. I think that's @#$y.

Yeah - I come on this site daily, hoping to educate a few fundies and in the meantime, I dodge the insults hurled by them, as it is their only form of ammunition.

I don't. I am happy with what I am. I don't want to make anyone worship the same way I do. If they want to, fine. If not, that is fine as well. However, I expect the same from everyone else. I respect all religions and don't think one is better than the other.

I have fundamentalists who want to destroy the foundations of my government and they will do so over my dead body. Does that count?

sure -- if I'm not teaching or or defending against the slander of others, I am struggling with my own thoughts.
