If it says in the Quran that you should respect other religions why do you "go to heaven" if you kill an "infadel". Don't make much sense to me.

Quran 2:190
"fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah does not love transgressors."
so no we do not kill All non-muslims and go to heaven. If in time of war a muslim is attacked they are allowed to kill the next verse is one that makes people think we are allowed to kill non-believers
"And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith."
see with out the first verse it seems a little like it gives permision but with the first verse one knows it is talking about war. and what irritates me is when people "pick" at the verses giving one or half of one without an explanation to make it seem to say what you want it to. The Quran is not just a bunch of verses that can be thrown every which way think of it like a paragraph. If i gave you this sentence out of a paragraph "...Justin shot the man." you might jump to a conclusion that justin is a bad guy but if i gave some more before it "the battle was at it's peak and as he paused for a minute a confedrate soldier aimed his gun at the union leader, Justin shot the man" see now the begining of the sentence show's that this is about the civil war and Justin saved his leaders life.
so yes we are supposed to respect other religions and we do not go to heaven if we kill a non-believer unless in a time of war then the peroson who died is a martyr and goes to heaven.
hope this clears things up.

You were not rude. and you have a valid question
now this is an anti-Islam propaganda, can you point to the versus in the Quran that say that so I can clearfiy them to you?
God bless
Edited later
Then ask your Bible teacher to give you the verse so we can give you a reply or you should settel for our answer that this is not true.
I mean if it was true then you should not find non-Muslims or Infidels in Muslim countries
India and Spain where under Muslim control for a long time when Muslim rule of those two countries ended you found non Muslims living there.
Now if what the teacher is saying is true, would not 800 years in Spain be enough to finish off all the "Infiedles"? I mean if the reward is heaven?
the truth is this only apply to war and even in a war you are not assured you will get it because you may be fighting to show off your bravery.
God bless

Muslims do not go to heaven for killing nonmuslims. This is an example....a guy joins the US army and fights and kills from people from the other army. He is seen as a hero because he is defending our country. But if he begins to kill random people from that country and starting aggression for no reason, he is seen as cruel. In islam, if you are defending islam and in defending it lose your life, you become a martyr. But if you are killing peaceful people for no reason, you are a murderer. You can only fight when the other side fights you. Killing innocents is never right.
What George23 said is even a better example. You wouldn't think of killing anyone normally but if in self defense you had to that would be completely different. This is what islam says, you can kill only in self defense. I could give you the verses that support this if you want.

It is when they wage a war against Islam/Muslims. It is quite defencive and not offencive. Each and every country, group, and community gives such directions to its people.
Islam taught to respect and treat well the Non Muslims and not to restrain them from their religions. They convert into Islam witnessing its teachings of love, peace, ethics, manners and high culture.

This is because most people don't know Islam. I would to answer your question with a question if I may:
What do you know about Islam? Not what you have heard or have have seen but what do your really know?
There are plenty of resources on the web about Islam.

The problem with Muslims is not that they are necessarily bad people. Their religion treats them as slaves, and in fact they call themselves slaves. As slaves, they MUST listen to their god. Since the only people who can actually 'hear' their god are their religious leaders, then they must be slaves to their leaders. They can only be as good as their leaders allow them, and right now they are at another low point in their history.

there are plenty of things about ALL religious texts that dont make sense.
which is why you shouldnt take religious scripts in the LITERAL sense. they are meant for contemplation and interpretation.
YOU are being as rude as the atheists who try to pick fights w/ christians on this site. i'd say that makes you a hypocrit
DougDoug, it is not the question itself but the TONE of the question which is agressive and offensive. curiousity is not a sin, but courtesy should not be forgotten in the course of discovery.
