I consider myself christian. I am not lumping all christians together in saying that pagan beliefs have entered into Christianity. It is a simple question... Do you believe paganism has entered into Christianity? And is there a difference between Christianity that has allowed this to occur and Christianity that has stayed true to Christs teaching? Even Moses and the prophets of old believed in a savior, ie Christ.
In study of the bible I have found that pagan rituals have been mixed into Christianity.
I refuse to believe that simply listening to someone speak from a stage is going to get me to the truth of the bible. The way I look at it is "if it can't be backed up in the bible, it's not true". That doesn't mean I won't listen to what is said but I will not turn my life over to man, who is largely blind to bible truth, without considering what the scriptures say on any given matter.

The emperor Constantine who was a Pagan was a main figure in selecting and editing the books of the Bible. He only converted to Christianity to save his self from the growing number of Christian revolts.
Many religious festivals and traditions stem directly from Paganism including the date of Christmas which used to be another Pagan celebration, they didn't know Jesus's Birthday, so rather than disrupt the habit people had gotten into-they just changed the name. This is the same for symbolism throughout Christianity, including the intersection of the Blade and the Chalice (star of David) which has existed since antiquity.

I know there is a question in there somewhere, hmmmm lets see, Oh there it is, Yes some Christian churches have adopted a few pagan beliefs. But as a side note most Christian churches view the Devil as a metaphor! But the Bible clearly states Satan exists. Oh and you should not lump all pagans together. Some of us don't follow your belief system, And remember you hold yourself as the true Religion but to us your just more pagans!

Pagan beliefs have more than just entered Christianity. They are at the very heart of it and can be found throughout the Bible, especially the New Testament.

You might want to do some research on ancient pagan mystery cults and then compare them to early Christianity.

If you watch the History Channel as much as I do you would find that as the Catholic Church (which I don't believe in) sought to control the population they used Pagan holidays as a means to create an easier transition in the conversion process. Early European Christian churches had Pagan symbols engraved into the artwork in the churches. The Pagan God Pan who had goats legs and was the God of music and mischief became the early European Christian depiction of Satan.

You must also realize that there where Christians before the Catholic Church came to be. Christianity traveled from Jerusalem to the west. It was the Catholic Church that incorporated those holidays starting with Halloween.

Paganism hasn't entered into Christianity. It was ALWAYS there. The first Christians were pagans who believed in one god instead of many. The flood myths, the virgin birth, and many of the other stories can be found in pagan texts that are dated way before the rise of Christianity. That's why all the Christian holidays are also very close or on the same day as Pagan holidays.

Yes, I agree that pagan beliefs have found their way into Christianity. But we are all human and even the disciples made mistakes and did things that were not pleasing to Christ. It does not mean that He does not still love us and we are not his children. He will deal with those issues in the judgment day. In the meantime, we as believers must continue to work out our own soul's salvation and not be swayed by what others do.
